Kick it!
First hard truth I’ve learned about fantasy baseball: NEVER DRAFT AN ANGEL!
Check this nugget out: During the course of the 2012 football season the El Monte Lions converted 33 of 65 fourth down attempts, which is 51%. A deeper look shows on downs where teams need to convert or it led to giving the ball back (For traditional teams this means failing to convert on third down and then punting) the Lions were 89 of 134, which is 67%.
How about a little bit more? Over the course of 12 games El Monte punted 16 times. They had 2 games of 0 punts, 5 games of 1 punt, 4 games of 2 punts, and punted 3 times in the opening game versus Baldwin Park.
Just a tad more: The Lions had 20 plays gain over 10 yards on 4th down. On 22 of the drives they converted a 4th down they scored 16 TDs (73%). They scored 11 TDs on 4th down.
That’s 16 touchdowns after converting a fourth down when standard football procedure would have been to give the ball back.
Now that kind of information should make you a fan…
Last Add El Monte: This is more than just Brandon Martinez making plays, but method not madness.
“Still rumors about Pasadena Marshall coming to the Mission Valley League persist.”
Two insiders, one outsider, have molded the following for me. Not saying its Gospel, but it is what I’ve been told. With the economy, North Korea, and Justin Sellers playing shortstop for the Dodgers it is nothing to get too worked up about.
Scenario One: Nothing happens
Scenario Two: Crescenta Valley joins the Rio Hondo League, Blair moves down or out…No one is clear about the future of a “Crescent League”. (Speaking of persistent rumors—just rumor—: Blair closes its doors in three years)
Scenario Three: Blair stays in the Rio Hondo League and Pasadena Marshall joins to make it a seven team league. At which the other five RHL schools would go into rebellion mode and take drastic measures.
Scenario Four: Marshall joins the Mission Valley League…this seems to be the strongest rumor of all.
Scenario Five: This is the Joe T. rumor…Schools need to think about football first, but won’t. So whatever happens will leave us all scratching our heads.
…And none of this will affect the price of lettuce.
Go Pablo!
Really Steve Alford? That’s the best UCLA can do?
Alford going to UCLA is like being promised a date with somebody named Gisele and having somebody that looks like a Harriet show up instead.
Don’t mistake my feelings about Tony Romo’s contract with me saying he’s not any good. Of course he’s good, the contract (6 years/108 million/55 million guaranteed/25 million for signing) speaks to his quality as a football player. The dude played and won a game with a punctured lung! He’s a stud. However, he’s not a great quarterback, he’s just a good quarterback.
The Dallas Cowboys gave “great quarterback” money to a “good quarterback”…55 million guaranteed is a lot of Legos toward your salary cap.
Go Rams!
Really Last Add El Monte: Of course it doesn’t hurt to have a Brandon Martinez running the show.
The Dude abides…
