2. Ricky Nolasco wins his Dodger debut in a 6-1 win over Arizona. With the victory, the Dodgers move to within 2 ½ games of the Diamondbacks in the National League West.

3. Carlos Ortiz, one of the alleged accomplices in the Aaron Hernandez case, says he was told that Hernandez said that he killed Odin Lloyd.

4. Jordan Farmar agrees to a one year, veteran minimum contract with the Lakers.

5. The Detroit Lions sign Matthew Stafford to a three-year, $53 million contract extension.

6. Steve Alford’s contract with UCLA includes a buy out clause of $10.4 million.

7. In addition to the SGV Shootout at Arroyo, Santa Fe (25 teams) and El Rancho (24) also have passing tournaments scheduled for this Saturday July 13.

8. Bassett Offensive Coordinator Jerry Urias.

9. Cleveland offers center Andrew Bynum a two-year $24 million deal. Bynum didn’t play a game last season for Philadelphia.

10. On this date in 1914 the Boston Red Sox purchased Babe Ruth from the Baltimore Orioles.
