Yes Monrovia was punched, pounded and pummeled by St. Francis. Yes the Wildcats are still the best team in the Mid-Valley. We might not find out how good Paraclete is until the playoffs start. You can say Arroyo beat up on a lightweight but you can also say the Knights were the only top three team to win. Is it just me or is San Marino more frightening than a Wes Craven movie? And San Dimas is playing like…well, like San Dimas.
1. Monrovia (4-1) – Sorry, the Cats aren’t dropping for losing to a machine called St. Francis.
2. Paraclete (2-4) – Spirits looking for some local non-league action next year.
3. Arroyo (4-1) – Knights the only top three team to win.
4. San Marino (4-1) – Ready for this? Titans have outscored last three opponents 201-20.
5. Sierra Canyon (2-3) – Blazers blitz Bishop; Northwest power Nordhoff next.
6. Bell Gardens (4-1) – Lancers rout El Monte; ready to roll in Almont.
7. Viewpoint (5-1) – Pats win again; showdown with Sierra Canyon on October 19.
8. San Dimas (2-4) – Saints should run Valle Vista League table.
9. Pomona (5-0) – Devils get Northview this week.
10. Northview (5-1) – Nice bounce back win over Covina.
11. Baldwin Park (5-0) – Braves struggle to beat Nogales; reality check this week with San Dimas.
12. Rosemead (4-1) – Panthers take care of TC; time to get serious in MVL.
13. Windward (3-1) – Did you know Wildcats only play an eight game schedule?
14. Montebello (2-3) – Oilers circle October 25 date with BG on their calendars.
15. Gabrielino (4-1) – All the talking stops now; Eagles at Arroyo this week.
16. Covina (2-4) – The Pernell Smalleys let a big one get away.
17. Mt. View (3-2) – Vikings get Rosemead right out of MVL chute.
18. South Pasadena (3-2) – Tigers get rich off the 90201 but San Marino won’t be as accommodating.
19. La Canada (2-3) – Good enough for top 20 but probably not good enough in Rio.
20. Schurr (1-4) – Tough non-league. Spartans can’t wait for Almont action.
