(Diamond Bar) The La Serna Lancers have reached the Southeast Division semi-finals for the fourth straight season with a resounding 51-7 win Friday night on the road at Diamond Bar High School.

Five different Lancers scored on the ground while racking up a total of 195-yards rushing with no ball carrier gaining more than 54-yards on the night while the defense held the Brahmas to a total of 28-yards rushing.

While the offense looked good dropping 51 on Diamond Bar, it was the defense that was most impressive. Last week Diamond Bar popped 63 on defending champion Downey but only managed seven against a stout Lancer defense.

The La Serna offense runs through Frankie Palmer but Palmer didn’t need to do it all as Bryce Oliver, Kevin Ramos, Anthony Garcia, Javon Thompson and Daniel Moreno all scored touchdowns for the Lancers.

*** The Lancer defense held the Brahmas to 119-yards of total offense and only four first downs.

*** Diamond Bar found themselves down 14-0 with 2:47 left in the first quarter when Ramos scored on an eight yard run. Ramos gained 54-yards on nine carries and the lone score.

*** La Serna pushed the lead to 17-0 early in the second period on a 30-yard field goal by Alexander Vasquez.

*** Thompson got his only carry on the night, a one yard touchdown, with 4:33 left in the first half to increase the lead to 24-0.

*** D’Andre Sanchez set the Lancers up for their next score when he picked off the Brahmas Tyler Peterson at  midfield. Palmer used play action to pull the defense closer to the line of scrimmage then hit Matthew Rosales deep over the middle for a 50-yard strike to paydirt.

*** La Serna got the ball to open the second half and marched 63-yards on eight plays capped by Garcia’s 13-yard scamper to glory.

*** Down 38-0 Diamond Bar finally got on the board with 6:42 left in the third quarter. Peterson found Cordell Broadus over the left side and Broadus fought his way through the Lancer defense en route to a 43-yard score.

*** Oliver got his second score on the night early in the final frame on a two yard run. Oiver finished the night gaining 50-yards on 14 carries with the two scores.

*** Palmer had very much a pedestrian type performance by his standards gaining only 24-yards on five carries a throwing for 165-yards on 14 of 18 completions.

*** The Lancers will now be back at home next Friday night to host the Burbank Bulldogs in one of the Southeast Division’s semi-final match-ups
