1. Chris Johnson, cut by Tennessee last week, signs a two year, $9 million deal with the New York Jets.

2. USC HC Steve Sarkisian names Cody Kessler the starting quarterback.

3. Aaron Gordon (Freshman) and Nick Johnson (Junior) are both leaving Arizona for the NBA.

4. Former UNLV coach Jerry Tarkanian is hospitalized after suffering a heart attack and contracting pneumonia.

5. Former Los Angeles Times “Page Two” columnist T.J. Simers is now on staff at the LA Register which launched Wednesday.

6. Montebello receiver Michael Juarez 2013 stats, junior year: 16 rec.-259 yards, 5 TD.

7. Norwalk running back Christopher Walker 2013 stats, sophomore year: 52-423 yards, 3 TD; 8.14 yards per carry.

8. Zach LaVine (Freshman) and Kyle Anderson (Sophomore) are both leaving UCLA for the NBA draft.
