1.  Former Cal High running back Nic Grigsby has latched on with the Winnepeg Blug Bombers of the CFL and is leading the team in rushing 268 yards and three scores.

2.  The Angels have won eight of their last 10 games and have moved to withing 1.5 games of the A’s.

3.  Rory McIroy goes wire-to-wire to win the British Open and his third major.

4.  The Dodger’s Hanley Ramirez was hit by a pitch twice in one game for the first time in his career in Sunday’s win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Ramirez also broke a rib in the 2013 NLCS when hit by the Cardinals Joe Kelly.

5.  Donovan Morgan caught 10 passes for 178 yards and four touchdowns in the L.A Kiss’ final home game of the season Saturday night.

6.  Famous for her goal celebration for the penalty kick that won the 1999 Women’s World Cup, U.S soccer star Brandy Chastain turns 46 today.

7.  Faizon Creighton and Querale Hall return to the Mayfair Monsoon backfield. Last year they combined for 1452 yard and 16 touchdowns.

8.  On this day in 1975 Billy Martin was fired as the Texas Rangers’ manager.

9.  Tony Dungy tells NBC Sports’ Michael David Smith that ” I wouldn’t have taken him” referring to the Rams drafting of Michael Sam. “Not because I don’t believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn’t want to deal with all of it. It’s not going to be totally smooth…things will happen.”
