1. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are alone in first place for the first time this season.

2.  Thirty-one years ago today the Dodgers traded Dave Stewart and Ricky Wright to Texas for Rick Honeycutt.

3. La Serna’s zero week opponent Ralston Valley (Arvada, CO) is 17-6 with a quarter final appearance in Colorado High School 5A playoffs in 2011 the last two years.

4. The Dodgers longest losing streak all season is three games. They lost three straight May 28-30 with losses to the Reds and Pirates and were swept in a three games series last weekend by the Milwuakee Brewers.

5. Zach Mettenberger led all rookie quarterbacks this preseason going 20 of 25 for 269 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

6. Village Christian’s opening opponent Webb has gone 4-16 and no league wins in eight tries last the two seasons.
