St. Franks Routs Chino, 41-7

By Thom Hendrickson

(La Canada) St. Francis won the coin toss, deferred to the second half, and very little went right for Chino as the Golden Knights rolled to a 41-7 victory at St. Francis High School.

All 6 touchdown drives for St. Francis in the 1st half took 2 1/2 minutes or less.
The Cowboys punted after their opening possession. On the Knights second play, Jeremiah Martin threw a perfect pass to a wide open Dylan Crawford in the endzone. He inexplicably dropped it, but it just put off the inevitable. Six plays later Areg Nazarian ran in from 14-yards out for the first score of the game.

Areg Nazarian continued his strong running (9 carries – 134 yards) with touchdown runs of 43-yards and 35-yards. Martin (11 of 16, 216 yards 3TD’s 0 INT’s) balanced out the offensive onslaught with touchdown passes to John Carroll, Crawford and Avery Williams.
The start of the second half saw the beginning of a running clock as St. Francis HC Jim Bonds put in his second string. Chino’s only highlight occurred toward the end of the third quarter as Da’creh West ran in from 14-yards out for the touchdown.
