(Los Angeles, CA) – St. Francis rallied from a thirteen-point halftime deficit by scoring 31-unanswered points to defeat Cathedral 52-41.

Jeremiah Martin provided the Golden Knights with its first lead since the second quarter when he powered in from five yards out make the score 38-34 early in the fourth quarter.

The Golden Knights much maligned defense in the first half, stepped up in the second half by forcing Andrew Tovar to throw three interceptions on consecutive possessions to turn their fortunes around.

After allowing Tovar to throw for 330 yards in the first half, St Francis responded by limiting him to just 139 yards in the third and fourth quarters.

Avery Williams put the exclamation point on the comeback on his second interception of the night as he picked off Tovar at the Cathedral 24-yard line and returned it for a touchdown to give the Golden Knights a 52-34 lead.

*** Martin finished the night 14 of 24 for 204 yards and two touchdowns, he also ran for 126 yards and a touchdown.

*** Areg Nazarian carried the ball 15 times for 172 yards and two touchdowns. He contributed to the passing game by hauling five catches for 37 yards.

*** Dylan Crawford scored the first two touchdowns of the night for St. Francis hauling in an 18 and 5-yard receptions.

*** Andy Cesta and Avery Williams (two) intercepted passes by Tovar for the Golden Knights. All occurred in the fourth quarter.
*** Both St. Francis (512) and Cathedral (477) combined for 989 yards of total offense in the game. They also combined for five turnovers.

*** Tovar’s final numbers were 37 of 52 for 469 yards passing and six touchdowns with three interceptions. He also ran for 28 yards.

*** Eight different Phantoms had a reception on the night. Marshaun Cameron had a team high 10 catches for 165 yards and one touchdown.

*** Aaron Moore and Renard Bell each scored twice for Cathedral. Moore from 38 and 18 yard receptions. Bell from 25 and 11 yards out.

*** The Phantoms were three for three on fourth down conversions in the game.

*** After punting on their opening possession, Cathedral scored on five consecutive possessions  to end the first half.
