1.  The APU Cougar mens’ basketball team pushed their record to 9-1 with a 83-70 win over Point Loma. Troy Leaf scored a game high 28 points and is now averaging 22.7 points on he season good enough for second overall in he PAC West Conference.

2.  Kobe Bryant moved ahead of Michael Jordan and into third place on the NBA’ s scoring list behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone in the Lakers 100-94 win over the Timberwolves.

3.  December 15, 1891 is recorded as the day that James Naismith invented the game of basketball.

4.  In preparation for their appearance in the 2014 Poinsettia Bowl, Navy beats Army 17-10 for their 13th straight victory in the series that has now totaled 115 games. Navy leads the series 59-49-7.

5.  The NFL players union has filed a lawsuit against the NFL challenging the arbitrator’s ruling upholding the suspension of Adrian Peterson.

6.  Johnny Manziel completes 10 of 18 passes for 80-yards and two interceptions in his debut as the Cleveland Brown’s starting quarterback losing to the Cincinnati Benglas 30-0.
