1. A.J. Cruz visits El Rancho for its Monday Night Football camp. El Rancho HC Vinnie Lopez coached Cruz as an assistant at Santa Margarita High School.

2. ESPN suspends Keith Olbermann for tweets critical of Penn State and its annual fundraiser.

3. Chicago Bulls’ guard Derrick Rose has a torn meniscus in his right knee and will undergo surgery. There is no timetable for his return.

4. Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams said the team plans to release him. Williams is the Panthers all-time leading rusher with 6846 yards in nine seasons.

5. The Arizona Cardinals extend HC Bruce Arians contract through the 2018 season.

6. Walnut beats Mayfair 84-65 to advance to the quarter finals of the Division 1A Finals.

7. Tyrek Adams scores 21 points and grabs 15 rebounds but its not enough as Pasadena is eliminated from the Division 3AA playoffs in a 60-57 loss to Sonora.

8. Bonita beats Buena Park 84-74 to advance to semi finals of the Division 3AA playoffs.

9. 75 years ago today the New York Rangers hosted the Montreal Canadiens at Madison Square Garden as W2XBS carried the first television broadcast of professional hockey.

10. Happy Birthday to former Laker forward/coach Kurt Rambis who turns 57 today.
