(Temple City) – South Pasadena scored four runs in the sixth inning to break it open and went on to beat Temple City 8-3 Tuesday at Marquadt Stadium at Bosson Field.

It was Temple City’s third game on its newly renovated stadium which features an all-turf field (infield, mound and batter’s box as well) and light fixtures for evening contests. The Rams are still searching for their first win on their home turf.

South Pasadena got one in the first inning when Isaiah Esquivel walked, took second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a bunt single by Kory How and scored on a ground ball by Cody Robinson.

The Tigers added two more in the second when Esquivel tripled to left to drive in Tony Ortiz who walked and then scored on a wild pitch.

After tacking on one more in the fifth inning when Aaron Kawasaki was hit by a pitch and worked his way around to score, the Tigers blew it wide open in the sixth. Three walks and an infield hit by Robinson produced one run and then with the bases loaded Kawasaki unloaded them with a drive to the gap in right field. By the time Kawasaki motored into third with a triple three runs had scored and it was 8-0 South Pas.

The Rams, who had been quiet all afternoon, broke through for three in the bottom of the seventh. Cobin Motta walked and Nathan Martinez was hit by a pitch. After Nathan Platon walked, Josh Jones doubled to right to score all three runners.
