Northwest Division Playoffs Game Night: Round 1

By Joe Torosian

All games are 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated

Friday, November 13

Heritage Christian (Olympic at large) at Notre Dame Riverside (Ambassador #1)
The Warriors making the playoffs is a great story…but the ending won’t be pretty. When NDR gets done with business the story will require an NC-17 rating.
Notre Dame/Riverside: 49-7

Pasadena Poly (Prep #2) at Rancho Mirage (De Anza #2)
A year ago it was the Panthers world…a year later, the Rattlers have come of age and will easily advance to the second round.
Rancho Mirage: 38-10

Maranatha (Olympic #2) at Bishop Montgomery (South Catholic #1)
Since early September everyone has known the Minutemen were building towards 2016. The Knights on the other hand have gone through the South Catholic window and are looking to go through to the second round for the first time this century.
Bishop Montgomery: 21-14

Aquinas (Ambassador at large) at Mission Prep (Northern #1)
The Falcons have had a great run and have made the playoffs for the first time since 2012. The 2005 CIF champs take the long ride to San Luis Obispo (255 miles) to take on a dominant Royals team. Go with MP.
Mission Prep: 28-14

Verbum Dei (South Catholic #2) at Linfield Christian (Ambassador #2)
The Dei is done. Arrivederci!
Linfield Christian: 48-7

Templeton (Northern at large) at Valley Christian (Olympic #1)
The Eagles biggest win came against Bakersfield Christian in Zero Week…They’ve lost all their ‘must win’ games. After driving 233 miles to see the Crusaders and Gianni Hurd, they’re going to have 233 miles heading back home to try to get over it.
Valley Christian: 31-14

Nipomo (Northern #2) at Rio Hondo Prep (Prep #1)
The Kares victory over Pasadena Poly last Friday night gave them the Prep League championship. It also got them a home game: hooray! The home game, however, is against the defending Northwest champion Titans. Boo!
Nipomo: 40-10

Ontario Christian (Ambassador at large) at Twentynine Palms (De Anza #1)
The 29ers are saying, “Yeah baby! Let’s Shragge!” Quarterback Jimmy Shragge has thrown 29 touchdown passes (1-interception) and has rushed for five more. The Knights were underwater in league (2-3 record) and got a gift with this playoff birth. The 29ers are going to crush this gift.
29ers: 45-13
