Northwest Division Playoffs Game Night: Semi-Finals

By Joe Torosian

Game times are noted below but those are what is listed more so than a guarantee. Plan on 7:00 p.m. and you’ll be sure to be there on time. With the way these teams can light up a scoreboard, being late is highly discouraged!

Note: Three for the four schools in the Northwest Semi-finals are from the Ambassador League. (Ala the NCAA Tournament Final Four in 1985 when the Big East sent St. John’s, Villanova, and Georgetown.)

Aquinas (8-4) vs. Notre Dame/Riverside (12-0) at North H.S.
The Falcons have lost twice since September. To Linfield Christian and NDR. They are hot, they are playing great football, and Branden Rankins is running like an old school USC tailback…but they are playing NDR? Let me flip a coin…Looks like we’re going to need a clean up on aisle five.
Aquinas: 21-19

Saturday, November 28 (6:PM)
Linfield Christian (11-1) at Nipomo (7-5)
I’ve been a Lions guy all year. In fact you can call me Mr. Lion…But a year ago I was on the Titans bandwagon early and it was the easiest call of the 2014 season. When I wrote them off this year they caught fire. The drive, the cool weather, and defending champs…might make things tough for LC. Heart trumps brain in this one.
Nipomo: 21-19
