1. Bo Ryan steps down as the head coach of Wisconsin after a 64-49 win over Texas A&M Tuesday night. Ryan finishes with a school record 364 wins and seven Big Ten titles.

2. USC opens  the 2016 football season against Alabama in Arlington, Texas on September 3. UCLA opens the same day at Texas A&M.

3. The Dodgers acquire RHP Frankie Montas, 2B Micah Johnson and OF Trayce Thompson from the White Sox and traded 2B Jose Peraza, OF Scott Schebler and IF/OF Brandon Dixon to the Cincinnati Reds in a three team deal. The White Sox get 3B Todd Frazier from the Reds.

4. USC Linebacker Su’a Cravens declares for the NFL Draft.

5. “Peterson? Who would win if San Marino faced La Mirada?” – MVS Commenter NWO.

6. UCLA (8-3) has won five straight, including wins over Kentucky and Gonzaga, after an 89-80 victory over Louisiana Lafayette Tuesday night.

7. Temple City’s Rich Hollinger Jr. is averaging 19.5 points per game for the 7-1 Rams.

8. Justin Alfonso is averaging 19.8 points for Arroyo (6-3).

9. On this night in 2000, San Francisco receiver Terrell Owens grabs an NFL record 20 receptions in a 17-0 victory over the Chicago Bears. Owens stole the spotlight from legendary Jerry Rice, who was playing in his final home game for the 49ers.

10. Happy Birthday to Dodger second baseman Chase Utley who turns 37 today.
