Millikan Tops Monrovia

(Pioneer HS) — Despite poor ball control which resulted in 44 turnovers, Monrovia stayed in close pursuit of Millikan from the early stages up into the core of the third quarter. That’s when Millikan loaded its cannons and fired away to put the game out of reach in a 90-66 rout of the Wildcats Wednesday night.The Rams weren’t particularly consistent either in securing the rock, and committed 23 turnovers. Both they, and the Wildcats, combined for a total of 67 turnovers.

Four players for both Millikan, and Monrovia, finished in double digits in the scoring department.

Two for Millikan had double-doubles. Ofure Ujadughele tacked 23 points (11/15 FG), 11 rebounds, five steals, and three assists, while Mason Dickerson assembled 17 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and an assist.

The other Rams of note were Justin Chambers (17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists), Christian Masing (14, 6 steals), and Nijel Jones (6 assists, 6 steals.)

Jayden Scott made 5 of his last 6 field goals and finished with 16 points to lead the Wildcats.

Jordan Ware chipped in with 15 points; Kris Johnson had a 12-point and 10-rebound double double, while Steven Pina (7 rebounds) had 11 and Rory Hare contributed five assists, three steals, three rebounds, and two blocks, for Monrovia.
