1. La Mirada knocks of Campolindo 27-3 to win the CIF Division III-AA State Title.

2. The Dodgers were hit Friday with a record luxury tax of almost $43.6 million for their payroll of just under $300 million.

3. San Marino falls to Cathedral Catholic 56-21 in the CIF Small School Open Division State Finals.

4. Vince Lombardi coached the final game of his illustrious career on this day in 1969 as the head coach of the Washington Redskins.

5. USC’s Adoree’ Jackson will be excused from spring practices to focus on qualifying for the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro as a long jumper. Jackson finished 5th in the NCAA championships this past June while only being a part-time member of the USC track team.

6. Milwaukee Bucks coach Jason Kidd will be out indefinitely because of a deteriorating hip condition that requires surgery.

7. The New England Patriots sign former Atlanta Falcon and St. Louis Ram running back Steven Jackson to a one year deal.

8. On this day in 1997 Barry Sanders became the 3rd player in NFL history to run for 2,000 yards in a season.

9. In four games Edward Dominguez is averaging 22 points a game for the El Monte Lions.
