1.) San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Gionbili will be out a month after successful testicular surgery on Thursday. The veteran sharpshooter was injured in Wednesday’s Spurs match with the New Orleans Pelicans.

2.) Mt. View alum, former Mission Valley League basketball MVP, Rashad Martin turns 25 today.

3.) USC men’s basketball team defeats UCLA, 80-61, for the second time this season.

4.) On this date in the 2010 Keith Jones stepped down as HC at San Gabriel.

5.) MLB Hall of Famer and “Home Run King” Hank Aaron turns 82 today.

6.) Burroughs Indians standouts Robert Awunganyi (Free Safety) and Branden Garcia (linebacker) signed their letters of intent to play college football. Awunganyi with Colorado State and Garcia with Tabor College. A Christian school, located in Kansas, Tabor plays in the NAIA Division.

7.) Sports agent Erik Burkhardt drops Johnny Manziel from client roster.

9.) The Los Angeles Kings lead the NHL’s Pacific Division with 65 points. San Jose is in second place with 58.

10.) The Dodgers have invited Elian Herrera, who played for the club in 2012-2013, to spring training. Herrera, a second baseman capable of playing third, spent the last two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers.
