Mid Valley Division MVP: Sierra Canyon’s Niko Harris

Mid Valley Divsion MVP

Mid Valley Divsion MVP

Leading a team to a Mid Valley Division title is an achievement in itself but to go undefeated in the process in another feat all together. To do this you need a leader who will step and show his teammates the way. No one did it better in 2015 than Sierra Canyon’s Niko Harris. For the season, Harris threw for 3,260 yards with 47 touchdowns and took care of the ball and only threw six interceptions. Harris also had a meager 290 yards rushing but scored another four times on the ground. If those stats weren’t enough, Harris also did all the place kicking hitting 90 of 101 extra points and four of seven field goals.

Game in and game out Harris put forth an effort in 2015 that is worthy and merits the Mid Valley Division MVP Award.

Why bet? Facts are facts. He has below average skills for a D1 QB. His arm is below average and he has decent speed at best. No school will gamble with that . Maybe a walk on at best . Don’t take it personal its just the truth….

Give it a rest boys. Comstock’s only a

    In the know?

I saw Comstock play this year and he is not a D1 player. I’m not saying that he isn’t special by all means he is. But he will not be playing football at the D1 level. I heard he’s a fantastic wrestler and can compete at the D1 level but not in football. Liking a kid doesn’t translate to D1 offers. It’s a business now and coaches will not gamble with college money nowadays. too much too lose. Sorry but it’s not happening..

It doesn’t seem like anyone us doubting comstock ability. Just where? It ain’t at QB D-1. Better chance of D-1 wrestling. Good job bringing that that up. FYI , he ain’t doing both in college.

Its not my place to talk about a kids offers or non offers but I know the interest in Comstock is real and when he is done wrestling I’m sure you will here a lot more. Go watch this kid wrestle and see for yourself what kind of special athlete this kid is. FYI, I’ll put any dollar amount you want to bet that this kid is D1!

    1) we wouldn’t get a straight answer if we dropped by
    2) everyone comes around to all the schools anyways
    3) No one is getting off on Azusa Ave.

@ in the know, stop by and offer are two different things… When he gets his first D1 offer I’ll stand corrected. All schools stop by for due diligence. Name calling doesn’t change the facts buddy.

@anonymous why don’t you stop by Northview and ask which schools that have already stopped by. Then you can take your foot out of your mouth because you sound like an absolute idiot. Also stats are posted on maxpreps. Congratulations Niko Harris on a great season.

“Get out of here! The best QB in the division doesn’t get bounced in the second round of the playoffs.”

Even though I’m about to spend three hours listening to Phil Simms, I don’t think I’ll hear anything dumber than that today.

@ congrats, you’re not a fan of comstock but you knows all these stats. Ok sure pal. Btw, comstock is a great HS QB but not D1, stop it.

Congrats, you are missing the most important statistic. Harris won both. Also, other players on the team did their part.

Comstock had to do it all because that’s all Northview has.

Like I said, not doubting Comstock is the best athlete. Harris is the real deal.

Comstock & Harris had 2 common opponents Pomona & San Dimas

Comstock vs Pomona 65% 444 total yards 6 TD
Harris vs Pomona 42% 267 total yards 4 TD

Comstock vs San Dimas 58% 284 total yards 3 TD
Harris vs San Dimas 53% 205 total yards 2 TD

Can you explain to me how Harris has better stats?

Comstock is the stronger armed better athlete and is only a Sophomore to Harris a Junior

Sierra Canyon had multiple D1 WR outside and D1 linemen in front of him and Comstock had neither so I want to know just why you think Harris is a D1 QB and Comstock is not?

I watched the playoffs in mid valley as a fan and former coach. And Harris is a great qb and so is Comstock. They both do great in their systems. Comstock does a lot more in his due to read options. Where harris had a pro style run game and pass attack. Both should translate to next level. Their both over 6’1 with Harris at 6’2. Would be nice to see them match up next yr in playoffs. But I’m sure Sierra Canyon is bumping up. Also Comstock doesn’t need to leave. He’s putting up numbers and wins. The recruits will find him. Do Harris or Comstock have any offers? The days of only big schools get you to D1 is over. Thanks to social media and these combine camps. South Hills isn’t a better program than Northview right now. South Hills will need a couple years to re established it’s self. And going to “Bigger” schools Comstock could get lost in shuffle.

That 2nd round game Comstock had 353 yards passing 91 yards rushing and 6 TDs and put 55 on the board. FYI, I am not a Northview fan but that young man can flat out play

Comstock is good but Niko is a level above. Not even close. Oh and Niko can run too. Niko I’d a D-1 QB as well. Comstock isn’t. Niko runs a pro style offense with a little spread. Comstock works solely out of the spread. Finally, stats say it all, with a calpreps rating not close.

Harris best QB. Comstock might be best Athlete. But that’s about it. With Matt Bechtle at south hills comstock should leave if he is going to play at the next level.

He isn’t going to play football and wrestle in college. Might be best to focus. Maybe St Francis. Corona Centennial might need him

Congrats Niko on a great season and a well deserved award.

But Steven Comstock from Northview was and is the best QB in the Mid Valley.
