Mid-Valley Spotlight: Monrovia Sophomore Maury Rams

Maury Rams: Monrovia, RB, WR, S, Sophomore:

I’ve been hearing about this guy for four years. I saw a video of him breaking off a touchdown run when he was in seventh grade. He’s fast enough to play running back, athletic enough to play receiver and strong enough to play safety. So the Wildcats will play him at all three positions.

“At this point he doesn’t know how good he can be,” said a Monrovia assistant. “He’s got a ton of potential.”

And just think of the headlines we can use. I mean a kid named Rams that plays for the Wildcats? A sportswriter’s dream.

@Sports Dad – Good call on Damien Rodriguez. I was his rugby coach last season, and was really impressed. I’m looking forward to see what he can do this fall with pads on. (Jack Kitterman as well). And while he may not be the kind of back that Castillo and Rams are, he’s a pretty useful ball carrier in his own right.
