1. Former Rosemead quarterback Steven Nava leaves for North Dakota State this Saturday. He will redshirt and quarterback the scout team his first year and then compete next spring.

2. The Dodgers lose to the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 on Wednesday and remain 2.5 games behind the San Francisco Giants in the NL West.

3. UCLA power forward Jonah Bolden has left the Bruins and decided to play professionally surrendering his final two years of eligibility.

4. The Los Angeles Rams release quarterback Nick Foles as per his request.

5. Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig receives a letter from Major League Baseball stating that he will be subject to a fine if he continues to wear custom made spikes featuring a tribute to Vin Scully. The shoes have a superimposed image of Scully and the words “Win for Vin” on them.

6. The New York Jets agree to a one-year, $12 million deal with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

7. NBA sources say Los Angeles Clipper owner Steve Ballmer is exploring potential sites for a new arena for the team.
