(Glendora) – Montebello broke open a tie game early in the third quarter and rolled to a 41-13 win over Azusa Thursday night at Citrus College.
The Oilers, leading 13-7, missed a chance at the end of the half to go up another score when they were stopped at the one as the second quarter clock expired. In the second half quarterback Gabriel Tapia, Michal Vital and Kris Rodriguez all scored rushing touchdowns to put the game away.
Azusa tied the score at 13 early in the third on a six-yard touchdown pass from Gabriel Whitworth to Matthew Jimenez before the Oilers reeled of 28 straight points.
Montebello improved to 3-1 with the win while Azusa fell to 1-2.
