(South Pasadena) – South Pasadena’s Justin Huff booted 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter and it proved to be the game winner as the Tigers beat Alhambra 17-14 Friday night.
Alhambra scored first when quarterback Dominic Wilson went 80 yards for a touchdown after taking a pass from Julien Garcia on a double-pass play on the Moors’ first play from scrimmage. South Pasadena’s Adam Arellano threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter to Sidney Luna-Long and Jalen Ross to give the Tigers a 14-7 lead at the half.
The Moors got even in the third on Lu-ring Paialii’s one-yard TD run. It stayed that way until Huff’s game winning kick.
For Alhambra Salmon Gurung had 13 carries for 55 yards and also picked off a pass on defense. For South Pas Arellano completed 24 of 33 for 246 yards and a pair of touchdowns with one interception. Ross was his go to guy with 11 receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown.
South Pasadena is now 3-1 overall with the win while Alhambra fell to 2-3.
