3. Mike Napoli signs a one-year deal with the Texas Rangers.

4. The Green Bay Packers cut running back James Starks.

5. “Montana doesn’t belong in the same sentence as Brady!” – Former Mid Valley Staffer Big George Hernandez posted on Facebook Sunday night after the Super Bowl.

6. Former Michigan HC Brady Hoke joins Tennessee as an associate head coach.

7. Multiple sources have said that the Dodgers have signed former San Francisco Giants reliever Sergio Romo, however President Andrew Friedman hasn’t confirmed it yet.

8. On this day in 1982 the Dodgers trade second baseman Davey Lopes to Oakland breaking up the longest playing infield in Major League history. (Steve Garvey, Davey Lopes, Bill Russell, Ron Cey).

9. Also on this day in 1986 Anthony “Spud” Webb of the Atlanta Hawks wins the NBA slam dunk competition.

10. Happy Birthday to former NBA MVP guard Steve Nash who turns 43 today. Nash played for the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns before finishing his career with the Lakers.
