    A little late to this thread but I have given the eye test to San Dimas and Bonita. The Smudgepot won’t be pretty.

    Lupe is right. Give the guys some time. Bonita has 1 year that isn’t up to the La Verne standard and BoHiFan is up in arms. Most Bearcat fans I know are not in panic mode

    BoHi Fan, In Shambles Huh? Typical upitty La Verne parent. It’s only football, baseball & softball that have issues. And the only real issue was the softball coaches travel ball snafu. Can the Football & Baseball get more than 1 year before they are fired? There have been a lot of the very best football coaches in the valley that have struggled their 1st few years. You may need to visit some other schools before you throw the word Shambles around.

    So let me get this straight. He leaves Chino Hills for Bonita principal job replacing Ketterling. He splits after two years because he loves Idaho? In his brief stay he leaves the Bearcat athletic teams in shambles. Proof that a bad hire can screw a school up. This guy stuck his nose deep into Bonita athletics and the buck stopped with him. And after aggressive handling and changes he splits, and you say there is nothing or no other side to this sad sad explanation and to just shut up about it? Baloney!!

    There are no details, he’s moving his family out of state. The next principal is a friendly face ,Kenny Ritchie. Bonita scored on getting him back.

    Why do they deserve it. Both coaches showed absolutely no aptitude of coaching in there first year. Both football and baseball got worse as the season went on. They showed no promise at all. They have athletes at Bonita and have a good mix of ethnicities to build a power in football. Some day they will get the right coach and when that happens there will be no turning back.

    @BohiFan and Lupe

    Bonita has never been some powerhouse of talent. They’ve always had tough hard nosed kids in all sports. But there is a great expectation of excellence and grandeur that La Verne parents have. Just because you go to Bonita doesn’t mean you are owed success.
    Although it’s a baseball thread you guys are making it about Bonita’s athletic programs so let’s just say this:
    Bub should have never forced Medrano out. That was a mistake and from my understanding both Podley and Baumunk knew it but couldn’t do anything about it. You really think Podley wanted to see his protege just leave?
    Next, they should have tried to up the ante for coach Knott. I get he had a promotion but Bub should have at least tried. 2 coaches gone with a new principal.
    Then the fiasco of hiring a new football coach. I still think the coach offered the job was at fault but why not just appoint it to Aguilar in the first place? I don’t know enough about softball to comment.

    Lastly the community needs to get behind & support both coach Agular and Coach Lopez because both deserve it.

    @ BoHI fan. Explain my ignorance. Those freshman on that team were Sophs last year. The freshman this yr were also good. That’s why I said the next 2 yrs. they would have NO excuses. Last yrs Seniors & Jr’s were just avg. players. You don’t when in Football on Varsity if Soph’s have to pull the load. I don’t remember mentioning basketball. But the boys going out early was a disappointment. Girls winning league was surprising . They could have won maybe 1 or 2 rounds @ best. Baseball is dowm w/out Schneider. It’s hard to admit when your kids aren’t that special. This graduating Senior class is avg. as a whole. The JR.s are the same. The talent THIS yr. @ Bonita are the Sophs & Freshmen.

    Please Loopy your ignorance is showing. 2015 Bonita freshmen team was 10-0 and no kidding out scored teams by an average of 40 points. Both basketball teams pre-season ranked and predicted to have deep playoff runs. Both 1 and done. These were supposed to be some of the Bearcats best years. If the talent declined or decided not to play or is still there but under performed what happened? Coincidence? The graph is pointing straight down and I blame the retirement of Ketterling. How’s that?

    I know BoHi fans are diehards but the talent level is down. Football has been down for 2 yrs. Baseball w/out Schneider is way down. Football has no excuses the next 2 yrs. IF they keep all of their players. That’s a big if though. Baseball should rebound next yr. If you were all in the know you’d be talking about Bub & something different.

    I know BoHi parents are diehards, but you do realize the talent level has been down in football the last 2 yrs. & baseball this year. Next 2 yrs. in football will have NO excuse IF & it’s a big IF they keep all of their players. And If you are all such in the know, you’d have something else to talk about w/ BUB.

    Opinion: Bub is the Trump of Bonita. Podley and Baumunk are Spicer and Kelley Ann and the head coaches are the red hat wearers. Since Bub railroaded the firing of Medrano, no one has had the guts to call him out. This led one fine young coach to quit the day after he was hired because Bub told him who he had to hire and the handwriting was on the wall. Coaches fled that were once happy and athletes no longer respected Bonita’s ethical standards. It’s Bubs “my way or the highway” and coaches and athletes are taking the highway. New softball coach cheating, Ketterling would have disbanded softball for a decade.

    @BoHi
    Bonita has the athletes to do well in all sports. What happen to them is baseball, football and softball. Is it Bud, is it Baumunk, is it Podley, what clown is running the show? I think we just put a tent over that circus. What can we do to change things?

    Baseball and softball teams were Bonita’s shoeins to make long runs in the playoffs. One flopped the other one caught cheating. First time no baseball or softball team in playoffs in 100 years. No joy in Bearcatville. Not looking forward to Smudgepot either. The buck stops at the top.
