Bozo why do you keep talking about the Monrovia coach, what is your obsession with him? Is it because arcadia is trash with or without you? My team is on a role! We are going to beat the breaks off arcadia! You guys aren’t even making the playoffs and you were talking State before the season! Shut yo Bozo @** up and shave that ugly disgrace of a pube hair looking thing you call a beard growing from your face. You suck so much that the Big D1 LB you got can’t get better than a D3 offer. He’s way better than that but you wouldn’t be able to tell because hes playing for arcadia! Sucks to be you BOZO MAXIE! Cant wait till everyone really leaves nezt season and com back home! And you cant really claim Dena if you went to Marshall!

Bro, Arroyo won big because you were there! The best Get Back Coach and Assistant to the Assistant ever! I’m sure you were glad you got the night off as Chain Gang though right?
And please! I know you and your pops are sweating the EM game. Arroyo is NOT San Marino. If they put up 36 on SM. They can put up points on you guys. Don’t worry though, I still have you clowns winning a high scoring game 42-35. But you never know. Funny things happen when you pound the rock so effectively.

Hey Williams, how did Monrovia do against a winless Don Lugo team last night? Stay off the blogs Williams the Monrovia admin and and fans don’t like losing! They had high hopes for you, but are learning very quickly that NV looks as good or better without you, and Monrovia is worse off with you. Coach it up!

When I come on these blogs I see all the talk about Arroyo and El Monte…. Why??? Their in Division 8 and 13.
If they played a good team like La Serna they would lose by 50… Last year you guys were all talking about how LS would fall off the map because the Beltran era is gone. Well I’m not going to jump to conclusions about this years team, but we’re off to a great start 3-0 and we just beat a good Mira Costa team (Yes Mira Costa beat St Francis this year) and L S beat them in all levels Freshmen and JV.
That says a lot for La Serna’s program!

Make no mistake that LA’s team IS younger than last year’s team, and they still gave St. Paul an extremely competitive game. SP is better and older than their team was last year. But SP will struggle in the playoffs because their passing game is weak. I was there last night, and if it wasn’t for SP’s solid defensive unit, LA would’ve won. They have 2-3 guys that can truly run the football. When their run game is neutralized, they are uncomfortable throwing the rock. Mark my words.

Pomona had some fast athletes but they weren’t John Muir… what killed us was mental toughness. It could of been a scoring shootout, but when refs forget what down it is and blown coverages and missed open tackles will hurt you big time. The offense is pretty good 3 games into season. I could see a big win next week vs. Montebello

But yeah, refs are almost never perfect but this was beyond the norm. Plus the announcer/ commentator just annoyed me all night.

Yeah I really like ERs O- line. And don’t forget, our D- line missed out on at least 5 sacks. Our DBs need work. Their were so many times all they had to do is swat the ball to the ground and then it’s a 3&out instead of a conversion of 1st down. Yes this kid is probably the most athletic then el rancho has ever had period. He’s fast. Plays RB I believe but i could see him playing strong safety as well. I’m going to see the kid play next Thursday afternoon.

@ Anonymous, Your statement and I quote “Last years team was also sophomore heavy…” that does not make any sense. If that were true, it would have made this year’s team with more juniors than sophomores and seniors combined. which is not the case. Regarding lineman, I believe most of the boys on the sideline who could play the line, are sophomores who are JV’s players still learning the position. It would be unfair to put them into that situation. Alas, coaches with Tunnel Vision, please explain how you come to that conclusion. Unless you understand the game plan, the players you have, the opposing teams strengths and weakness you have no clue what you are talking about.

Football is a game where the only thing that matters is the scoreboard.
    Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda, doesn’t count.
I was pulling for Los Altos last night. Mistakes cost them. Welcome to football!
Been there! We know what’s it’s like to go down to the end and come up short. But any team that loses a close one to another team wants the team they lost to to do good. The better they look the better you look. Still, hats off to L.A. They will only get better. And their chances of getting another shot at St. Paul is pretty good. I hope they make a statement next week at home vs Glendora.
I also was pulling for P-Town. Glad to see they pulled it off. Nothing against ER, I just am a homer for teams that used to be in our league.
But it’s preseason and coaches try different thing and take more chances than they might normally do in league games. So, lighten up on your teams, go with the flow, and remember the ONLY thing that matters is your kids out there getting a lifetime of memories.

You “St. Paul Guys” are delusional @StPaul homer. Stop acting like Al Bundy and trying to live in the past. Under Coach Zepeda SP is 18-27! You got booted from the Mission League, Angelus League and are currently in the weak Del Rey League that has a combined record of 1-7 excluding SP. Although the Swordsmen are much improved, they are far from the top tier program they once were. So don’t go putting down other programs, Los Altos with a much younger team gave you all you could handle.

There will always be disgruntled parents, last night LA had a few opportunities to win the game but the coach’s failed. Last years team was also sophomore heavy so their lack of maturity falls on the coaching staff. The biggest problem LA has is the coaching staff seems to have tunnel vision, there is no reason their linemen should be going both ways. They have a sideline full of boys who could have played, the big boys were tired and it showed they did give it their all though hats off to them. @LaParent has a good point #88 is a beast! He has fine turned his skills but there are other players. How does your MVPs from last season who are still working their ***** off not get any playing time? Those guys are linemen too

My thoughts on last nights game were that Los Altos could have won before the end of regulation had they played a bit more disciplined. I applaud Coach Brown because the team has definitely exceeded the early expectations and are playing good football. This game showed me they are playoff material but not a championship team… yet. There are things they will need to improve on and that is primarily the quarterback play and finding a go-to running back. The quarterback lacks arm strength and it showed with two early interceptions that lead to them being down 10-0 early on. Not only that but he needs to learn to throw the ball away, there were many times when he forced the pass which could have easily lead to more picks. This, of course, is something he will need to improve on during the offseason or else I can definitely see his spot taken if someone better were to transfer in. In terms of the running back play, you can only use Zaldivar in so many places. He is obviously your best offensive weapon but he is definitely a much better receiver than running back. This year, in my opinion, should be used to get better and add experience to those young talented sophomores and juniors that will only get better next year. This team does not have a dominant player on either side of the ball as prior years with Nevens, Olmos Tolmachoff or Jimenez but, they play hard and will only get better as the season progresses. By the way, #49 is a stud linebacker, I definitely enjoyed watching him play at full force every play. Its only week 3 but this season has been very interesting so far.

    @ER:
As someone who has been heavily involved in the DRL the last 7 seasons, I have seen CAL and ER underachieve at an astounding level. Both schools have near/over 3000 students and continually fight to not be in the bottom 3. ER has been losing kids to St. Paul and WUHSD schools left and right. ER was pretty good under Lopez 2014 but since then has taken some pretty tough L’s to the likes of Cal and Pioneer. But who know, it could all be fake news.

Kinda annoying to hear these big predictions of greatness. Let’s stop with this O-Line is special talk for now, we are 1-2 although that’s probably exactly where we should be. A team like Pomona with its atheletes can really stretch the field and exploit smaller DB’s easily, not sure if they have a new Head Coach but to me they seemed much better coached than last year. ER needs to capitalize on red zone opportunities, we’ve left so many points on the board in the first 3 games and it’s killing us. As of right now we don’t look like we will make too much noise in league, but that’s why the game is played, this is not an X’s and O’s issue, it’s jimmys and jo’s.

This game should have not been close. We should have been up 28-0 in the first half if we had Allen at RB but he did not play. He would have punched the ball in on short plays for td’s. Than with 30 seconds left in the half we fumble the ball inside our 20 yard line and gifted a TD to make the game close at half time. The next time we play Los Altos it will not be close, but I don’t see it happening. They still got to get by school in their league. Yeah they beat Covina which usually plays better as the season go along. Remember Covina could not beat Arroyo in weeks 0 in the passed.
88 is the real deal, he beat us last year with I think 3 td’s. This year we held 88 in check, but he still made two td’s. This kid will be playing somewhere in college.

@LaParent, I don’t know what game you watched,. LA was not out coached. If that was case, LA should have been blown out, as many had predicted. What you saw last night, was a heavy sophomore laden LA team go up against a heavy laden Senior St. Paul team. The boys from Los Altos went toe to toe, especially that defense. Los Altos has a bright future. But since you created this comment, you must be a disgruntled parent. Instead of bashing the team why not support them, because no one is giving them chance.
