1. Indianapolis Colt quarterback Andrew Luck suddenly announced his retirement Saturday. Luck was drafted out of Stanford in 2012 and played six seasons. He missed all of 2017 with an injury.

2. The Rams beat the Broncos 10-6 Saturday night. Most of the starters including quarterback Jared Goff and running back Todd Gurley didn’t play.

3. Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller tore his ACL and is out for the year.

4. The New York Yankees beat the Dodgers 5-1 Sunday and won two of the three games at Dodger Stadium.

5. Number 8 Florida beat Miami 24-20 Saturday to kick off the college football season.

6. California has outscored Schurr by the combined score of 98-35 in the last two years.

7. Rory McIlroy won the FedEx Cup and the $15 million prize Sunday, the biggest payout in golf history.

8. Overheard on the Covina sidelines Friday Night during a 49-6 loss to Los Altos. “We have a new defensive coordinator. We’re just waiting for him to start coordinating.”

9. The Lakers signed center Dwight Howard to a non-guaranteed contract to replace DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins who is out for the year with an ACL injury.

10. “It’s not an easy decision. In fact it’s the hardest decision of my life. But it is the right decision.” – Andrew Luck.

    #6 I can’t honestly believe that Ramos still has his DC on board. He should’ve fired him a couple years ago. Well, I guess there’s a reason that the program is getting flushed down the toilet. Very sad that a once proud and tough minded program has become a laughing stock.

    All three levels combined. Cal 109- schurr 0. Two programs going in the opposite direction.

    Luck, when you watched his team play, did not seen happy or having any fun at all when playing a game.

    #6 is shocking. Schurr has DC that thinks he invited football. Poor sap won’t ask for help!
