1. Running back Marshawn Lynch signs a deal to return to the Seattle Seahawks.

2. The Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-10 on Monday Night Football to clinch the NFC North.

3. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson gave each one of his offensive linemen a Rolex watch.

4. ESPN college football reporter Edward Aschoff passed away Tuesday on his 34th birthday.

5. Reliever Dellin Betances, who spent the last seven seasons with the New York Yankees, agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Mets.

6. Hawaii beat BYU 38-34 in the SoFi Hawaii Bowl Tuesday.

7. Sunny Hills HC Pete Karavedas was named the Orange County Register Coach of the Year. Karavedas previously was the head coach at Maranatha and the DC at Whittier Christian.

8. Free-agent pitcher Rich Hill, most recently with the Dodgers, and his wife Caitlin were arrested and fined over an altercation with Police at Saturday’s Buffalo-New England game.

9. The Lakers (24-6) have lost four straight heading into Wednesday’s game against the Clippers (22-10).

    Karavedas would have been named coach of the decade, but the Register subtracted points for that promise to shave his head if the team won CIF.
