  1. The Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 4-3 in Game 7 of the NLCS Sunday night to advance to the World Series where they will face the Tampa Bay Rays.  
  2. Tampa Bay beat the Houston Astros 4-2 Saturday night in Game 7 of the ALCS to advance to the World Series. 
  3. #2 Alabama knocked off #3 Georgia 41-24 Saturday. Alabama coach Nick Saban, who had tested positive for the coronavirus Wednesday morning, had three negative tests since and was on the sideline coaching the team. The initial test on Wednesday is now considered a false positive under the SEC protocols.  
  4. Florida head coach Dan Mullen announced that he has tested positive for the coronavirus. Florida’s game against LSU, scheduled for Saturday, was postponed due to a number of positive coronavirus tests.  
  5. The San Francisco 49ers beat the Rams 24-16 on Sunday Night Football. The Rams dropped to 4-2 on the year while the 49ers improved to 3-3.    
  6. Former Angels employee Eric Kay was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday on charges related to the death of Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs on July 1, 2019. 
  7. Former Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield turns 58 today.   
  8. Former Northview/ current Fresno State quarterback Steven Comstock will have surgery Tuesday in Philadelphia for Femoroacetabular impingement and also to fix two hernias. Recovery time is expected to be six months. 
  9.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the previously undefeated Green Bay Packers 38-10 Sunday. Aaron Rodgers threw two interceptions including a pick six. 
  10. On this day in 1981 Rick Monday’s home run in the top of the ninth inning lifted the Dodgers to a 2-1 win over the Montreal Expos in the decisive Game 5 of the NLCS. The Dodgers went on to beat the New York Yankees in the World Series in six games.

    The second-best thing to the Dodgers making it back to the World Series is the Houston Astros getting knocked off by Tampa Bay in the American League Championship Series. Good riddance to those cheaters.
