The kid that transferred to Orange did the right thing. He saw the writing on the wall, he was a starter last year and saw a limited amount of passes to him. LS will throw the ball to Jake George and nobody else. The HC is afraid of his family so he has to make them happy by making him the star of the team……like the HC naming George a captain. It really is a joke…..Coach George has 2 sets of rules, 1 for the team and 1 for his nephew.
@Long Overdue
Wth are you even talking about? Forbidden by God? What? Restructuring leagues is a pretty big deal – what do you propose? Btw Pioneer (from your original post) wanted to get out of the DRL because they couldn’t compete… yet they still aren’t even competing in a new league that was supposed to be better for them. So what’s your point?
@? Bro, if you go into an empty set then yes, you have 5 wideouts and whoever is the 5th best will be out there… that’s where you get your depth chart from. Pretty simple stuff but wouldn’t expect you to understand, especially since only one WR/DB left, not plural you moron. All that says about the kid that left was that he couldn’t compete. Try harder.
La Serna, much like La Habra, Monrovia, and LB Poly should not be in their league. They will stay in it though because it’s an all Whittier district league. With that being said, this is a big boy non league schedule!
@LS & Anon: You Lancelots make no sense. Study film? Formations? It’s moot anyway because coach is gonna throw to his nephew all all day long. That is why receivers are splitting.
CIF has a new competitive equity thing, whereby teams will be put into playoff divisions that match their level of play. La Serna has obviously structured its preseason lineup to likewise match its level of play. My question is: why can nothing be done to improve the league portion of the Lancers’ season? Did somebody receive a message from God that this is forbidden?
@?
Well if you understand formations, then yes… there are strings for WR. Study some film lol
Don’t know what the hell you’re talking about with “five strings”. But there are two seniors one junior and one sophomore way ahead of the kids transferred… that’s why he left.
@LS: 4th string at best? That means LS has at least 5 strings? Wow? Who are they Alabama?
I don’t think that is necessary, the rest of the Del rio league just has to get better.
That WR that transferred out was 4th string at best. That’s why he left. LS will heavily rely on Senior All State WR Jake George with such a young team. Should be interesting.
@Long Overdue
La Serna lost the league championship in 2014 and 2017 with close calls along the way. Push La Serna out because they’ve been winning league? Guess they should do that to La Habra in their league as well? C’mon now. Why didn’t the Del Rio League push out Santa Fe when they dominated in the late 90s and throughout the early 2000s? Just admit you’re a hater and move on. Btw, have you even looked at the preseason schedule? That is what will help them prepare for playoffs.
Nope, definitely lost a very good defensive back. I have no doubt LS has some very good young pieces, but might be a year away.
Rumors at least one of their Wide Receivers has transferred to Orange High School.
wow, you heard wrong… no one transferred out
It’s been roughly 15 years since the open enrollment situation in the Whittier/Pico/SFS area started sucking all the football talent into La Serna, which is seen by parents as something akin to a private school without the tuition cost. That’s fine, but when will CIF see that this imbalance needs to be addressed by moving the Lancers out of the Del Rio? Pioneer got removed for being super bad; La Serna needs to go because they are structured like a private all-star team. Lest you think I’m a hater, understand that the current league assignment does nothing to prepare the Lancers for their higher division playoff runs, and it does nothing for the squads it destroys like clockwork in league.
Only one returner transferred out, the other that transferred would not have played a down lol
Heard a couple of the very few returners transferred out. They had some nice players at the lower levels, there will be some growing pains this year.
