He did 8th twice, his older brother was the qb for Covina but lowkey and the parents new Jake would start over him so they held him back one year so James could start his last year

I’m sorry but this kid and his parents are softer than cotton. How the hell are you jumping ship one month and going back the next. That’s a weird flex. Word on the street he was run out of Monrovia. He didn’t know what the word compete meant so he tucked tail and went back to the farm.

@ER: If Peterson put up a column about the curling outcome of Oman vs Kuwait us bloggers can turn it into a football story. The kid got his picture in the Mid during off season> That is very rare. So Im sure all is well in Covina. Now his story gets seen by the 10,000 ER fans on here. So whats wrong with that? I don’t see Peterson complaining. Remember you don’t have to read it.

We really have no need to be in this convo, people threw us in there and then the haters come out which results in us responding. We dont proclaim to be a powerhouse, we simply work hard with whatever kids show up and we get victories. We’ve been through this before, Don Lugo fell off the face of the earth we cant control what they are, Sierra Vista was left in shambles, Santa Ana cancelled due to covid, if you have a bone to pick about the Montebello or BG games then hey they are rivalry games, BG and Montebello have fallen super low so those games don’t do much for us. I get it no we shouldn’t be dominating a topic about the Covina QB, this should be about him as he is a pretty solid kid and still young, but we cant help but respond to the haters that love to talk about us. Go Jake Duronslet, F the ER haters, the end!

love how ER fans just have to make their way into every conversation I swear. Your 2021 wins only came from teams below division 8 most of which were division 12-14… ER ended up in div 7 and lost in the first round! QB stats vs bad teams don’t matter get a grip

ER fans way too sensitive easily get hurt feelings. Relax guys you’re acting like Cowboys fans going to Superbowl every year. ER gets blown out by LS so I don’t think that’s competing. Your biggest comp is CAL and Whitter.

@Anonymous: You’re just another wannabe ER fan. Jealous of ER fans passion for football. Go back to your teams tiny fan base that you never mention because you are ashamed to name them. Probably a program without a stadium or home grown players.

People have been saving that since 2016 and ER just keeps winning. La Serna shut us down they were just better, our QB still threw for around 200 yards that game. It’s been ER and LS and then everyone else playing for 3rd, I know them birdies cant stand it.

Not many programs around are averaging 9 wins / season. Keep hating tho.

ER can’t hang with any D6 team or below. They are a solid D8 or above at best. You sound like a cowboy fan “the good old days” Even then they were mediocre. Then again that’s what we do, we live in the past. Good luck this season.

What an idiotic thing to say, ER has one of the most dynamic offenses in the area, QB’s throwing for 3k yards and 30+ touchdowns and they need a better OC? What do you want 4000 yards and 40 TD’s? Stop hating you f.f

Monrovia always had a QB…he ran back to his friends b/c he realized he wouldn’t see the field without them (i.e playing on their field/level)

Don’t worry about Monrovia. We got two studs at QB and at least two more transfering in. Good luck to Jake.

lol wow, a jv team playing weak teams…. I think medrano and staff deserve more credit than that. ER is successful with local talent, give it they have 2-3 studs on the team that can play any HS but the rest are simply kids who have little to zero football background

too bad it aint like the old days,

HAHA ER is no Powerhouse and really just a JV team playing weak teams. A good D9 or 10 team at best. Any talent in the area plays for Amat or Paul’s. Good for them. ER needs a better offense cord, it looks like they just make up plays i the backyard. Dont @ me just saying.

I wouldn’t call ER a “powerhouse” I would call ER a consistent well coached successful program that gets every ounce of talent from their players.

Covina bending over backwards right now. Lol… The best part is the kids dad tweeting out that big things are happening at Covina. Like that’s the reason the kid came back.lol He wasn’t going to make it at Monrovia, so he comes back to Covina. Now, everyone’s praising him. Unreal.

Monrovia gets transfers and recruits from all over socal and still plays in the same division as El Rancho that gets the little kid from accross the street. Why can’t they coach up Monrovia kids? Maybe because they can’t coach?

Agreed. Some kids have no stability and like to bounce around. They are filled with delusions of grandeur. It’s nice to dream and hope but if you are good they will find you.

Finally a family that gets it. Not so stubborn as to see their mistake and humble enough to go home and not some other place. Great move. Football is about being with friends and having fun in high school.
