Pacifica Christian Too Much for Temple City

(Temple City) – Pacifica Christian was too big, too strong and simply too much for Temple City Saturday Night in the CIF Division 4A Girls Basketball Finals. The Tritons jumped out to an 18-8 first quarter lead and were in control the rest of the way in a 69-44 rout of the Rams at Temple City.

Addison Deal and Annika Jiwani got the Tritons out of the gate quickly in the first quarter. Deal scored three buckets inside and had seven points in the quarter and Jiwani buried a pair of threes and had an eight-point quarter.

Deal had five more in the second as Pacifica Christian extended the advantage to 33-19.

The Tritons delivered the knock out blow in the third outscoring the Rams 19-8 in the quarter. Lauryn Ham nailed two threes and Deal hit two from downtown and by the time the third quarter buzzer sounded Pacifica was up 52-27.

The fourth quarter was just a formality as everything had been decided except the final score. The Rams did manage to play the Tritons even in the fourth.

For Pacifica Christian Deal led all scorers with 25 points and finished with 14. Jiwani had 11 and Jamie McKay ended up with eight.

For Temple City Tallulah Trieu hit four threes and led the team with 14 points. Chelsea Lee scored 11 including seven in the fourth quarter and Audrey Yoshimura added seven.

Temple City finished the season with an overall record of 21-8. Pacifica Christian improved to 26-5 and is now the Division 4A Champions.
