  1. #15 seed St. Peters beat #2 Kentucky 85-79 in overtime in the first round of the East Region Thursday in the NCAA Tournament. 
  2. The Dodgers signed first baseman Freddie Freeman to a six-year, $152 million deal Wednesday night.
  3. Former Rams linebacker Von Miller signed a six-year $120 million deal with the Buffalo Bills. 
  4. The Rams signed wide receiver Allen Robinson to a three-year, $45 million contract.  
  5. The Las Vegas Raiders acquired wide receiver Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers for two 2022 draft picks including a first rounder. 
  6. The Cleveland Browns are out of the running for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson however Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has requested a trade. 
  7. UCLA basketball head coach Mick Cronin has received a contract extension through the 2027-’28 season. 
  8. Rosemead and El Monte are both still searching for head football coaches. One well known local head coach has applied at both El Monte and Rosemead. 
  9. Former Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the San Francisco Giants. 
  10. The Colorado Rockies signed third baseman Kris Bryant to a seven-year, $182 million contract.

    @ Poverty Level: I feel your pain, but it’s professional sports. Show them the money, and hopefully they will play their hearts out for their fans and team owners.
    With any luck, fans might be able to afford the privilege of watching an occasional game in person. A less pricy alternative would be to follow your favorite high school and college teams.

    Reading these multi-million-dollar athlete deals makes me angry over the financial bind our heroes must be enduring. Maybe this site can start a Go Fund Me account to help them make ends meet.
