- USC wide receiver Drake London was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the eighth pick in the first round.
- Baseball: Arcadia beat Crescenta Valley 4-1 in 11 innings Tuesday night to take over sole possession of first place in the Pacific Division. Arcadia will host CV Friday night in the regular season finale.
- Baseball: Monrovia beat South Pasadena 6-1 Wednesday to wrap up the Rio Hondo League title.
- The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett with the 20th pick in the first round.
- The LA Chargers took guard Zion Johnson from Boston College with the 17th pick in the first round.
- The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Toronto Raptors 132-97 Thursday night to win their first round Eastern Conference playoff series in six games.
- The Golden State Warriors beat the Denver Nuggets 102-98 Wednesday night to win their first round Western Conference playoff series in five games.
- The Angels are in first place in the AL West with a 13-7 record heading into Thursday night’s action.
- The Kings will face the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the NHL Western Conference playoffs. Dustin Brown, who has played in a franchise record 1,295 regular season games in 18 years for the Kings, announced he will retire after this season.
