  1. NFL draft: First Five Picks: 1. Jacksonville -Travon Walker DE Georgia 2. Detroit – Aidan Hutchinson DE Michigan 3. Houston – Derek Stingley Jr. CB LSU 4. N.Y. Jets – Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner CB Cincinnati 5. N.Y. Giants -Kavon Thibodeaux DE Oregon. 
  2. USC wide receiver Drake London was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the eighth pick in the first round. 
  3. Baseball: Arcadia beat Crescenta Valley 4-1 in 11 innings Tuesday night to take over sole possession of first place in the Pacific Division. Arcadia will host CV Friday night in the regular season finale. 
  4. Baseball: Monrovia beat South Pasadena 6-1 Wednesday to wrap up the Rio Hondo League title. 
  5. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett with the 20th pick in the first round. 
  6. The LA Chargers took guard Zion Johnson from Boston College with the 17th pick in the first round. 
  7. The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Toronto Raptors 132-97 Thursday night to win their first round Eastern Conference playoff series in six games. 
  8. The Golden State Warriors beat the Denver Nuggets 102-98 Wednesday night to win their first round Western Conference playoff series in five games. 
  9. The Angels are in first place in the AL West with a 13-7 record heading into Thursday night’s action. 
  10. The Kings will face the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the NHL Western Conference playoffs. Dustin Brown, who has played in a franchise record 1,295 regular season games in 18 years for the Kings, announced he will retire after this season.

    That’s part of trend for declining quality of football in high schools all throughout SoCal

    It’s not the city , it’s the administration and culture of schools

    La Puente city cares not for football I guess. Maybe futbol is their game. Here it is May and no HC’s in La Puente or Bassett.
