Yea,you’re correct. Arroyo lost to Claremont after a 10-0 regular season, but maybe Claremont was better than their seeding. They did wallop the number one seed the following week 38-7

    Agree with SGV .

The games scheduled are largely competitive, but Arroyo should be favored in all
Mission Valley League weakened with coaching departures
At Kaiser , and at ElSgundo are not pushovers but these are .500 teams and league also rans last year . Schurr solid but from questionable Almont
They certainly didn’t want the risk of another whitewash from neighbor Rio Hondo Prep

My point is Arroyo is historically good for the area and none of these teams will be a feather in Arroyo’s hat if they wallop them. None of these opponents cause fear or make it interesting. The other side is if they lose to one of them it will be uhoh we got big problems. Not saying MD but would a Covina or a San Dimas be to much to ask? Check out last year. Same type of schedule 10-0 only to get a great seed and still get shutout in round one by Claremont? Reading your headlines too much is not preparing you for playoff football the way CIF has set it up today.

I agree. I always felt like Arroyo played a weak non-league schedule. Especially since the MVL is not very competitive. They will usually have one banger and the rest of the team are eh.

Another race to the bottom. Even little college teams take on Alabama every year. I guess taking on San Marino is Arroyo’s idea of playing an Alabama.
From T. Peterson: What’s wrong with Schurr, San Marino, and Whittier in a non-league schedule? Great local matchups. I like it. The Kaiser game also has interest. Who do you want Arroyo to play? Mater Dei? St. John Bosco? Sorry not happening. Nobody would care and it doesn’t make sense. These are the matchups we want to see.
