El Rancho Tournament: Here’s a few shots from Saturday’s Rumble at the Ranch. La Serna beat Culver City in the Final to win the Tournament. La Serna knocked off Monrovia in the semi-finals and Culver City beat El Rancho.

ill post everything here under TheRanch18 because you can hold me accountable to what i say. im here for the kids first and foremost. i want all our local boys to succeed , ER can be 0-10 and i will still tell you Screw LS … ive met some parents, heck my boys played wiith some kids… example during covid my older boy played with some LS kids in the Winner Circle League, Kids played together and i cheered for that ugly LS helmet bc we were on the same team … parents were fine we all got along…
who this “Anonymous ” guy is … your a tool who hides.. i have my feelings of who it is but ill hold back… obviously some new B00ty who’s coming in like a hot head…
There is a difference when you have tons of parents who are willing to help out with money or donations and having parents who might not even be able to afford a spirit pack.
What ER FB page are you talking about? I can peruse all the different boards and blogs and social media pages, I never see any ER fans being obnoxious, ER fans are supportive of their team, but it’s never in a disrespectful way, never do we talk down on any other program, our staff does an amazing job of getting these kids ready to play football. We’ve been on a few nice playoff runs and done relatively well in league during the medrano era, some people simply don’t want to see you win, especially those who lose to you every year, im 100% it is someone from Cal Hi stirring the pot. The funny thing is Cal HI’s head coach bleeds El Rancho blue and is really good friends with Adrian Medrano. Cal HI’s staff is loaded with El Rancho alumni, if you’re a parent who is trying to stir the pot, talk to your coaches and ask them if they feel about El Rancho the same way you do, you might get smacked in the face for your stupidity.

post multiple times under different names. I’m going to assume the Anonymous blogger who hates El Rancho isn’t a La Serna fan at all. While El Rancho fans can be a bit much on here, I am going to assume it’s Ranch18 and maybe 2 others who do most of the blogging. I went to the tournament last weekend and must say that the ER fans/parents are cool as hell!
Unfortunately with the CIF changes in playoff format , Division championships are kinda random and less meaningful . Why should schools from same league be in markedly different divisions ?
Hypothetically, Would you say Cal Hi had better year finishing 3rd and winning D11 championship if LS beat them by 45 , won league but lost second round of D4??

Just like I tell my young ones it don’t matter if don’t win the championship. Both Ranch & LS haven’t won one recently. Leagues don’t matter unless that is what you desire to win. I prefer division championships.
It’s truly fascinating, La Serna gets all the athletes and talent, they operate like a private school program, have tons of monetary support. El Rancho on the other hand doesn’t get most of their cities athletes, they operate on a limited football budget amongst other factors and challenges. Not sure why LS would hate so much, I think realistically it’s someone from another school, likely someone who grew up in pico or who lives in pico and is mad at El Rancho for one reason or another, bottom line you made that choice, El Rancho was the perfect situation and you listened to the wrong people and it back fired. As a occasional reader of MVS I wonder why LS fans always post so much hate on ER stories. I start to wonder who is it that is really in ones head? One thing for sure Mr. Editor, if you want some hits post ER football stories. LS haters will pump up the numbers.

HA Hernandez? What a joke. He’s OK but very undersized. as for offers they don’t mean dodo until someone signs. It’s ok to dream nothing wrong with that but then comes reality. Good luck to all. LS calm down it’s just an ER tournament nothing to brag about. We know u have horses, stay humble.
As an unbiased observer, La Serna absolutely dominated Monrovia in that game, I’m not entirely sure LS has a home run hitter but they can absolutely pick teams apart, 10 yards here, 15 yards there, 12 yards here, over and over again, hard to stop. They did manage to make the Monrovia WR’s look avg at best, Hernandez has looked solid from what I’ve seen but I would love to see it against some much tougher competition, Monrovia has pre season games against Bonita, El Rancho and Ayala in 2022, 3 great opportunities.

Having won several state High School fooball titles as a coach and a National title as a college coach I will tell you. Give me a team full of kids like Carlos and we would win 99 percent of the games.
You can’t measure heart and this kid works his tail end off both on and off the field.

Congrats to La Serna! Stop with the bashing of a D1 kid. Monrovia game for a little chippy but nothing was as bad as the stuff I saw at the Charter Oak Tournament where almost every team, coaching staff, and official showed poor class. I’ll be the first to say that I’m an “ER hater” when it comes to league play but this tournament was top notch run by a top notch program. And congrats to our boys!

Nothing but positives here, Coach Medrano and staff did an excellent job running the tournament. Athletes all over the place!! It was a good showing for the DeL Rio League; Cal lost in the Quarterfinals, El Rancho lost in the Semifinals, and La Serna won the tournament. The last two years run first teams have won this tournament!
To the so called “LS Fan” that’s probably a parent and/or a student that can’t accept that Carlos Hernandez is an amazing athlete that works hard for what he wants. No need to hate just because he’s educated, blessed, gifted and humble. Trash talking on any athlete is so unacceptable, immature, jealous and down right hateful. Good Luck in 2022

I was there today for the semi finals. Chippy on both sides. LS completely handled Monrovia and we were without our best player. Talking about kids by name and how many offers they have sucks!!! (LS FAN) actually that post sounds more like a “non LS Fan”.
Both George and Hernandez are premier WR’s. Hopefully we will see Monrovia again in the playoffs. If not…good luck this year.
It was hard watching all the cheating from LS….who taught you guys how to play. You might of won today but what are you going to do this season when you actually play football. You know 7 on 7 is different from 11 man football right. Bonita, Warren and St. Francis were the teams that showed you what football is really about. You thumped your chest last year I bet you you will probably get thumped on this year again! Yeah, let’s see how you do this year. We won’t be watching cause we don’t care. Jake George only had 3 offers, Carlos Hernandez has 9 offers all full ride and counting, that should tell you something.
I never get why people hate on kids who work hard. Carlos Hernandez is a great athlete and student of the game, but an even better person from a great family. The kid works hard and clearly has EARNED all the scholarships he has received. There is a reason he is committed to a PAC 12 team. He is No Jake George, he is Carlos Hernandez. 2 completely gifted athletes who work hard and come from great families. You must be special if you have team planning against you and double teaming you.

It was hard to watch the all the crying done by Monrovia coaches and players in the semi’s against La Serna. Carlos Hernandez was clamped by La Serna. No surprise. LS plays team football. Hernandez and Monrovia got flustered when they played LS. Overrated. He’s no Jake George and he’s not even LS’ up and coming premier receiver Jayden Northrup. Monrovia doesn’t play anyone and they pad his stats. Keep beating up on weak teams and thump your chest. La Serna showed you what’s up today. Oh, And we also run the ball first, pass second, and won the passing tournament…Good luck.

My take: Well run tournament. Top referees. Boys tiring in the summer sun. Good play. Trash talk very unnecessary. Eye test. Le Serna QB a beast. Culver City and Monrevia speed to burn. El Rancho a surprize. Competed well against top teams and had standouts at skill positions. But it is 7 on 7.
