  1. The Toronto Blue Jays fired manager Charlie Montoyo despite a record this season of 46-42. 
  2. Running back Le’Veon Bell has decided not to play in the NFL this season to focus on boxing. 
  3. The New England Patriots traded receiver N’Keal Harry to the Chicago Bears for a 2024 7th round draft pick. 
  4. Former NFL running back Marion Barber II died of a heat stroke police said Monday. Barber was found dead in his Frisco, Texas apartment June 1. 
  5. The Pittsburgh Steelers have changed the name of their stadium from Heinz Field to Acrisure Stadium.  It was  named Heinz Field since it was opened in 2001. 
  6. Former Michigan head football coach Gary Moeller passed away Monday at the age of 81. 
  7. The MLB All-Star game is set for Tuesday night July 19 at Dodger Stadium. 
  8. USC is an early 35-point favorite over Rice in the season opener September 2 at the Coliseum. 
  9. Former NBA dunk contest champion Anthony “Spud” Webb turns 59 today. 
  10. “Big guys shouldn’t judge the dunk contest.” – Spud Webb.
