(West Covina) – West Covina seniors Zach Requena and Thomas White combined for 308-yards and five touchdowns in the Bulldogs 44-14 dog walk of Los Altos Friday night at home.

The game started off sloppy for both teams with fumbles, bad snaps and penalties.

The Bulldogs got it together late in the first quarter when White took two defenders in the end zone with him for a 11-yard score.

On the Conquerors next possession penalties put them on the one-yard line and Nate Maggiore sacked Los Altos quarterback Andrew Silva for a safety making it 9-0.

West Covina didn’t waste anytime getting on the board again early in the second quarter as Requena dove in from one yard out to make it 16-0.

Los Altos would get it going when Silva threw a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter, a 92-yarder to Isaac Dominguez who dodged a few defenders and raced into the end zone, and then an eight-yard slant that was caught by Ricardo Trujillo in the end zone. Making the score 16-14 at halftime.

Bulldogs came out hot the second half. On their first possession White hit the hole and sprinted to paydirt from 73-yards.

Maggiore got in on the action again with a strip sack. Daniel Gutierrez then broke a 55-yard run that set up a two-yard walk into the end zone for White. His third of the day.

Requena came back for seconds when he set up his own score when he broke a 46-yard run then capped it off with a seven yard run from the Wildcat formation for the touchdown.

West Covina finished its scoring early in the fourth quarter when Samuel Ramos snuck it in from two yards out.

White had 140-yards and three scores on six carries, while Requena had 18-carries for 168-yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Maggiore and Iain Acevedo kept pressure on Silva all night with Noah Chabolla picking off a pass to end the game.

Silva went 11 of 22 for 159-yards and two touchdown passes going only 3 of 9 the second half for 29-yards.

Anthony Rivera was a workhorse for the Conquerors with 16-carries for 67-yards.

Los Altos will go home and host Walnut next week while West Covina will stay home and face Crescenta Valley.
