Temple City Rams Vikings

(El Monte) – The game was a back and forth fight for the first half but two Jake Jones second half touchdown passes pulled Temple City away with a 40-26 victory Friday night at Mountain View.

The Vikings got the ball first and were stopped by the Rams defense.

On the first play of the game for Temple City Judah Douglas took it 64-yards to paydirt, making it 6-0 after a missed two point conversion.

View drove the ball down field on its next possession capping it off with a five-yard touchdown run by Xavier Spann putting them up 7-6.

Rams came right back with a 70-yard drive that was ending with a Jones three-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Wang giving them the lead back at 13-7.

Vikings took back the lead when Juan Villarreal slipped through the Temple City defense for a 24-yard score.

Douglas found the end zone again this time from one yard out giving the Rams a 19-14 lead with four minutes left in the first half.

Another long drive by Mountain View was capped off with a nine yard pounding into the end zone by Ricky Guerrero making it 20-19 at half.

After back to back defensive stops by each team Douglas would find the end zone for the third time, this one was a 76-yard scamper putting Rams up 27-20 after a two point conversion.

Jones would put the game away with two touchdown passes to Nick Sunderman – one late in the third and another early in the fourth.

The Vikes would get on the board late in the game making the final score 40-26.

Temple City will travel to Hoover next week while Mountain View will go on the road and face Century.
