(Baldwin Park) – Sierra Vista, a team that finished 0-8 last year, finished the regular season 7-3 with a 29-6 victory over Wilson Friday night at home.
The Wildcats got the ball first and drove down field with Chris Handford taking it in on a jet sweep. The touchdown was called back because of a holding. They then turned it over on downs.
The Dons then had their chance on offense they also drove the ball down field but turned it over on downs after a penalty pushed them back.
Sierra Vista stopped Wilson’s offense for the rest of the first half.
The Dons next two possessions were capped off with a 42-yard trap by Robert Rodriguez and a 10-yard touchdown catch from Alexis Alonso to Eric “Tarzan” Terrazas making it 14-0 at the half.
Sierra Vista then got the ball first and Kimbom Aseh set up another Terrazas touchdown this one from 5-yards out making it 22-0.
On the first play of the fourth quarter Terrazas found paydirt again this time from 25-yards out making it 29-0 after an extra point from Eric Alvarado.
The Wildcats would find the end zone in the fourth when Handford slipped a few tackles and took it 48-yards, but they missed a two-point conversion.
Terrazas finished with 18-carries for 110-yards two touchdowns and another two receptions for 15-yards and a touchdown. He also had a interception off Jeremiah Ortiz.
Aseh led the team in rushing with 129-yards on 15-carries. Rodriguez chipped in 68-yards.
Dons now wait until Sunday to see who they’ll play next week while Wilson will be handing in its gear after a 1-9 season:
