Success? How did St. Paul do in the playoffs? How’s the health of the coach doing that got socked by a JV player?

BLUE U ARE AN IDIOT. The food is rotten to the core at the ranch. No one i repeat no one is drinking the water. I think you’re bitter because Zepeda having more success than your current staff. Continue your losing ways.

I’m not sure if this is accurate, but I know I’ve heard that the schools in the Del Rio League have an agreement not to schedule St. Paul because they poach their players.

Again, ya’ll have some weak reading comprehension skills.

Let me try putting it this way.

You ever watch those cooking shows where there’s a competition between 2 chefs but each chef is only allowed to use 3 or 4 of the exact same ingredients and the same cooking utensils?

Well Medrano is cooking with the same ingredients now that Zepeda was cooking with 10 years ago and the food at ER tastes a lot better now than usual did when Zepeda was the chef. This cannot be disputed.

SP might beat ER and they might not. But that would be because Zepeda has private school ingredients and cooking utensils.

I guarantee St Paul did not or will ever duck anyone. ER is scared and it shows. Your AD aka HC schedules weak pre season games. He knows what he has and it’s not good. Likes to pad his stats. St Paul all day!

Ask around, i have a couple of rings at another local private school, and had a very successful O-Line, I lost respect for my alma mater when they started to cry about undue influence when players left them but take them with open arms. I don’t coach at ER anymore, but telling you it is a known fact St Paul ducked the ranch in 2013, 2014.

That’s laughable. You’re no SP alum. Swordsmen’s don’t duck anyone. Put ur money where your mouth is. ER is sacred they know. coach Z will just dominate ER’s week offense. All your hold back are gone. Keep hiding from us and playing soft preseason. You’ll always be 2nd best in the del rio.

I’m a St. Paul alum and coached at ER about a decade ago. we tried to schedule SP they refused, we scheduled 7 on 7 and line work at the ranch, St Paul no showed twice, ER is just a program with neighborhood kids, St Paul has recruiters all over the place and can’t manage to make the D8 playoffs, not the D-1 St Paul I once played for, stop embarrassing our alma mater, we are an embarrassment.

You said, “LS, One and done again” lol

Whether you’re lifetime stupid, just bitter and jealous of the LS success, or mad that your team plays in the participation trophy Div 14/15 don’t call it the playoffs every year, it really doesn’t matter to me.

    What matters though is
    Facts > your dumbness

Not counting the Covid year when
they went (5-0), La Serna has made the playoffs 19 of the last 20 years.

16 of 19 playoff years, La Serna has pulled a WON & NOT DONE.

Of those 3 times they didn’t advance
out of the 19 playoffs appearances,
    2 of 3 came down to the last minute;
    a 31-27 L to St Francis &
14-12 L to PV, both at high level D3.

I wonder what programs other than Concord DeLa Salle & La Serna can say they have won a playoff game in at least
16 of the last 19 times (84%) they made the playoffs?

    Thanks One & Dumb Clown
for putting a spotlight on La Serna’s
    tremendous playoff success
    over the past 2 decades.

Who really cares? SP people are slime. How they live and die by this guy is amazing. He hasn’t done anything in coaching ever. It boils down to mediocrity. That school is nothing more than that. SP is finished. People on here are comparing the two programs for what? ER has consistently been winning and SP is terrible. SP has been Irrelevant for more than 30 years. Let it go…

Zepeda coached at ER for 4 seasons.
2008 2-8 lost to Montebello this season.
2009 6-5 3rd place DRL coin flip into the playoffs and lost to Schurr.
2010 6-5 3rd place DRL, coin flip into the playoffs and lost to Burbank Burroughs
    2011 5-5 no playoffs.
The highlight of Zepeda’s entire tenure at the ranch was a win over a very young West Covina in 2009, other than that it was a whole load of nothing.

19-23 record, not 1 playoff win, not 1 all cif player, not 1 all area selection.

    Medrano
Took over a 1-9 program left in shambles by Vinnie Lopez and Roddy Hiatt

2016 5-7 record 3rd place DRL, beat Norwalk in the 1st Rd of the CIF playoffs, lost to CIF champion Valley Christian 30-12, DRL Offensive MVP Gabriel Huerta, 5 All-CIF selections, multiple all area selections. Top offense in the DRL

2017 3-7 record lost multiple close games, lost to league champ Santa Fe on an INT in the SF red zone that would’ve given ER a W, beat the crap out of Montebello who was coming off a win over St Paul. This was the most difficult season in the medrano era. Top offense in the DRL

2018 2nd place DRL, 9-4 record, playoff victory over Moreno Valley, a comeback victory for the ages over Knight High school down 17 in the 4th quarter. Should’ve beat 12-0 Eisenhower in the Semis, played without best offensive weapon Rojas who was lost due to grades. 3 All CIF selections,

2019 2nd place DRL 9-3 record, playoff victory over Compton, lost a very winnable game 80 miles away to hemet in a game that was gifted to Hemet by the refs. 3 All CIF selections

    2020 Covid…..

2021 2nd place DRL 9-2 record, multiple shutouts, 3 all area selections, 2 all cif selections, DRL offensive and defensive MVP, paired with a D4 caliber team Leuzinger with a handful of D-1 athletes who ER had no business playing against.

2022 2nd place 6-5 finish in the biggest rebuilding year in the Medrano era, QB threw for 2000 yards and had zero weapons to throw to. Top offense in the DRL, DRL MVP, tough playoff matchup against a very fast Palmdale team.

Those are nothing but facts and cold hard numbers, Medrano coaches up any kid that shows up, development is huge in this program, Medrano won’t be in anyone’s dms, he simply does what coaches have to do, he coaches.

If you still to bring up your dumb Zepeda argument you can, but medrano is a coach, Zepeda is a recruiter there is a huge difference between the 2.

Medrano will sit his players for grades in the biggest playoff game in decades, DELETED

Next time you make such asinine comments please do your research. Night and day difference between the 2.

You guys struggle with reading comprehension. Im saying Medrano is a better coach than Zepeda. We have proof of it! Zepeda was the head coach at El Rancho and choked. Medrano has coached at El Rancho and has brought stability to a program in desperate need of it.

I’m not saying El Rancho would beat St. Paul. But what I am saying to s that no one should choose St. Paul over El Rancho because of coaching….

ER would NEVER schedule St.Paul, If they did then it would cost them much more then just losing that game. Medrano is a good coach but he ain’t no world beater, hence why they have never beat La Serna or any team worth mentioning. Zepeda went to the finals, medrano only to the semis. Zepeda>Medrano easily, it ain’t even a toss up.

Zepeda is a great recruiter and smooth talker, but in terms of coaching ability, Zepeda couldn’t win a playoff game and he had Ronnel Lone, Joey Sanchez, Johnny Garcia, Jerry Huff, Josh Lopez, that’s saying something. Medrano has taken a 5’3 130lb offensive lineman and turned him into an All CIF, All Area, All League 3000 yard passer with multiple playoff victories. Medrano is an actual coach, something most programs don’t have, they are just great at recruiting, the day medrano actually pulls in some talent watch out, I’m hearing some things.

Why would you want to get banged up every week? It’s like a bye week but you get work in. Worry about who you schedule cause at the end of the day they’ll still smack you on their worst year and I could care less about StPaul

    @Anonymous,

Dude you’re just trolling now. I come out with hard evidence to prove my point and you come back with that? Given an apples to apples comparison, Medrano and staff are far better than Zepeda’s company, both on AND off the field but I won’t go there…. Yet!

You say their non league schedule is weak so Let’s look at ER’s schedule:
BG won their league, Monrovia won their league and went in a higher division, Montebello advanced, Mayfair is still playing in the playoffs in a higher division , and Norwalk won their league and advanced in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, big bad private school St. Paul schedules Huntington Park and other low city section schools almost every year.

Medrano is 43-31 and has won 5 playoff games. If a 6-5 season is a bust, then what was Zepeda? His best season at ER was 6-5.

Medrano a WAY better coach than Zepeda.

Arroyo doesn’t stand a chance against Lancaster. I’m not talking crap but being realistic. Lancaster can score at any given moment. But they are very undisciplined. If Arroyo can play with composer they might surprise. If not, then lights out. Lancaster is extremely fast and athletic. You can’t overcome that with mediocre defense. Good luck anyways….

Best wishes to Arroyo as it takes on Lancaster for a trip to the championship game. The Knights benefited greatly by Los Altos’ 6 turnovers, but not enough has been said about Arroyo’s opportunistic defense, which caused those changes of possession. Defense wins championships, and that’s the goal.
