1. Monrovia has reportedly hired Jose Casagran as its new head football coach. Casagran’s last head coaching job was at Southgate where he stepped down in 2018. Monrovia hasn’t announced the hire yet as its pending board approval.  
2. Former Norwalk star/ NFL running back Elijah Penny has applied for the head coaching job at Glenn.  
3. The Rams and All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner have agreed to part ways after one season.
4. Bonita beat San Dimas 4-2 Wednesday night to win the Pizza Chalet Tournament. 
5. Jeff Bezos has hired an investment firm to examine a bid on the Washington Commanders. 
6. The Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors 124-111 Thursday night to improve to 28-32 on the season.
7. The LA Galaxy will play LAFC Saturday night at the Rose Bowl to open the 2023 MLS season. 
8. On this day in 2020 a Memorial service was held at Staples Center in Los Angeles for Kobe Bryant.
