Larry Stewart: My Up-Close View

Former LA Times and Los Angeles Herald Examiner sportswriter Larry Stewart gives you an up close and personal view of his more than 40 years covering sports in Los Angeles with his new book “My Up-Close View.”

Larry’s book has ringing endorsements from notable writers such as Bill Plaschke and Rick Reilly and more importantly from arguably the greatest announcer to ever sit behind a microphone, Vin Scully. Larry is a longtime Arcadia resident.

    @Another Possibility, yes. I don’t know if that’s sarcasm given the usual rhetoric here (and, to be fair, other such blogs–both extant and otherwise). But yeah, Petersen provides all of us here with a service that’s valuable to all of us amid the rat race that predominates our lives. That in mind, his time on the field of sports journalism must hold a wealth of worthwhile stories worthy of a few chapters and a pain in the a** Editor (whoever that could be).

    When thinking about legendary sports writers, my mind drifts toward our own Tim Peterson. Tim undoubtedly has stories to tell that would make a fine book of his own.
