  1. The Smudge Pot game between Bonita and San Dimas has been moved from Mt. SAC to Citrus College Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. 
  2. USC quarterback Caleb Williams can return to USC if the team drafting him first isn’t a good situation his dad said on Wednesday. 
  3. The San Francisco 49ers signed defensive lineman Nick Bosa to a five-year, $170 million extension. 
  4. MLB announced that Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias has been placed on administrative leave while an investigation is being conducted after Urias was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge Sunday night.  
  5. New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Jake Haener has been suspended for the first six games of the season for a PED violation. 
  6. The Detroit Lions beat the Kansas City Chiefs 21-20 in the 2023 NFL opener Thursday night.  
  7. Linebacker Carl Nassib, who became the first openly gay player to make an active roster in NFL history, has announced his retirement at the age of 30. 
  8. Former Syracuse/ NFL wide receiver Mike Williams, who various media outlets had erroneously reported had passed away due to a construction accident, is on life support at a hospital in Tampa, Florida.
  9. The Cincinnati Bengals signed quarterback Joe Burrow to a five-year, $275 million extension, making him the highest paid player in NFL history. 
  10. The Chargers will host the Miami Dolphins Sunday at SoFi Stadium at 1:25 p.m. to kick off the 2023 season.
