  1. NBA Draft – First five picks: 1. Atlanta: Zaccharie Risacher- F-France 2. Washington: Alex Sarr – C- France 3. Houston- Reed Sheppard -G- Kentucky 4. San Antonio: Stephen Castle – G- UConn 5. Detroit: Ron Holland II – G- G League Ignite. 
  2. The Lakers selected Dalton Knecht, a forward from Tennessee with the 17th pick in the first round. 
  3. The Miami Heat signed Bam Adebayo to a three-year, $166 million extension. 
  4. The Lakers selected LeBron James’ son Bronny James, a guard from USC, in the second round with the 55th pick overall. 
  5. Former Azusa Pacific head baseball coach Paul Svagdis, who spent the last three years at DIII Tufts College, has been named the new head coach at Westmont College. 
  6. The Denver Nuggets are trading point guard Reggie Jackson and three unprotected second draft picks to the Charlotte Hornets to free up salary cap space. 
  7. Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts does not want Shohei Ohtani to participate in the Home Run Derby due to the physical exertion of the event as Ohtani is still rehabilitating from Tommy John surgery. 
  8. The Clippers selected Cameron Christie, a guard from Minnesota, in the second round with the 46th pick overall. 
  9.   A Texas judge dismissed a lawsuit claiming sexual assault against Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. 
  10. On this day in 2007 Ohio State center Greg Oden was the first overall pick in the NBA draft by the Portland Trail Blazers.

    I hear that if the Lakers fail to pay Bronny at least $10 million/year, LeBron will do poorly to spite the team. Oh wait…the elder James is going to disappoint anyway, due to a condition called old age.
