1. Chargers receiver Mike Williams announced he is retiring after eight years in the NFL.

2. Former Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Bryan Braman, 38, passed away Thursday from a rare, aggressive form of cancer.

3. JSerra offensive lineman Jake Hurtado, class of ’28, has transferred to La Serna. Hurtado stands 6’3″ 290 pounds.

4. Bradley Beal has agreed to a buyout with the Phoenix Suns and will join the Clippers on a two-year, $11 million deal.

5. Guard Damian Lillard has signed a three-year, $42 million deal to return to the Portland Trail Blazers. 

6. The Pittsburgh Steelers signed edge rusher T.J. Watt to a three-year, $123 million extension which makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.  

7. Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice was sentenced to 30 days jail time and five years probation for his role in a multi-car crash last year.

8. Former Dodgers’ pitcher Julio Urias’ suspension for violating the MLB domestic violence policy ended Thursday and he is looking to return to the league. Urias hasn’t pitched since 2023.

9. The Detroit Tigers have the best record in baseball at the All-Star break at 59-38. The Colorado Rockies have the worst record at 22-74.

10. Joy Taylor was fired by Fox Sports on Monday. Fox canceled the show “Speak” which Taylor co-hosted. Morning shows “Breakfast Ball” and “The Facility” were also canceled.
