pink panther ? Could it be more of a CIF board cause of how messed up it is
Watcher; 87 and 88 then 10 years later one more playoff appearance. Only 4 playoff appearances in school’s history of over fifty years. Any idea why 87 and 88 teams made the playoffs ; and just missed playoffs the next two years//? Why were they much better in mid to late eighties? Anyone know why?
Low Profile I definitely agree with you on giving up 20 to possibly to worst team in the valley. About six seasons ago (about five or six or seven) Workman won the league for the first time in almost three decades. They had 3 very good to excellent athletes on offense and in a league that bad, three can dominate. They scored like 40 or more points almost every game; yet their defense was the worst defense possible. Even lost in first round something like 63 to 52
Truth? Did Muschetti similarly schedule these kind of teams when he/LM won the state
@Pink Panther I don’t think it’s the SGV I think it’s CIF
@Waycher if beating Marshall Gab And Toes mead gets you a playoff berth something wrong in SGV . Gab actually better than Rosemead this year, better program now
@Sports Man
How many good seasons has MV had? Last playoff appearance in 97. Any win is a good win for them no matter who it is cause they’re as bad as anyone ever been. They’ll beat Marshall and probably Gab if they get Rosemead a D14 appearance could happen.
It’s not just the TC football team that benefits from the new athletic facilities. Soccer, Track and Field, Tennis, baseball and softball are benefitting as well. TC football is in a down cycle. That’s just how it goes. Perhaps expectations need to be tempered. I read another high school football writer’s blog who picked TC as a possible dark horse. Then had the nerve to cuss at them in his blogg after they lost last week. Very unprofessional in my opinion.
@Ramsfan You were expecting govermental efficiency??
Sure it’s only the pre-season, but after spending $2 million on Temple City’s football sports complex is it to much to ask that your team be able to score at least 1 point in the first 2 weeks? It’s been a declining program for 10 years, at least. Did the school board and the powers that be decide that spending(wasting) that much money would become our own Field of Dreams. Build it and they will come. But the players didn’t come, in fact the players they do have don’t even show up for practice I’m told. The fields been done for the most part for a month, but we had a home game at San Marino. WTF? Why didn’t they move up the Grand opening ceremonies when they knew it was going to be done ahead of schedule? Waiting for school to be back in session? Here’s an idea plow the field under and subdivide it into lots and sell it to a developer to put 50 houses in at $2 million a piece and make some money to pay back the taxpaying citizens of Temple City who voted for an education Bond that paid for this Boondoggle of a project. This football field is TCUSD’s version of the train to no where. What a waste!
@Sports Man …: point taken about coaching change , however FNL is spot on about this . Workman scoring 20 is very troublesome !
Check and see how many they scored last week , look at the results from last season. Actually try to find last time they scored 20
At this point of the season, a good matchup would be St Paul vs. Bell Gardens.
Ohhhh man! Friday Knight Get Back Coach is back! I guess it appears when Singiser appears. Don’t be a bozo please.
friday nights? MV for real? My suggestion is (not that i know too much; only suggesting based on my education and observations of quality head coaches ) that MV , with Paredes, is improving their program already a little bit ; especially offensively. They are playing against pretty poor programs like workman who has only had one very good season in three or more decades. Starting the season with wins, even against poor clubs, is better than losing games. In this very weak league (again I am not claiming I know more than others but many of you will agree) MV probably won”t win more than one or two , but if they win several in non league could it help getting a berth in this CIF ‘all clubs get trophy type of recreational stuff” they produced
Is the the View for real? Giving 20 to workman is a bad sign.
Is EM for real? Jury is out but they’ve passed the two test thus far
How bad is SEM?
Not a good way to open your new field ER
What good does it do St.Paul to schedule up,and game over by half.
Er uh……..The real Titans.
From T Peterson: Pioneer won 21-0. I added it
Score please.
From T. Peterson: La Salle 28 San Marino 14. It’s posted in the scoreboard.
How about those Chargers? Well done boys!
Next up Muir at CO’s Big Lou Stadium (one of only 3 games at home this season).
Anyone else get ripped off by subscribing to NFHS for last night’s game from SoFi?
Looks like rough year for MVL….. SEM crushed by Saddleback? Mountain View likely excited by start , but giving up 20
to Workman a problem by any standard . Rosemead feeling good until seeing Wilson cronies put up 70 on what may be worst Bosco Tech squad this century ( which is saying something) . El Monte looking like the squad this year ; when league foes play each other they can win some games
Arroyo has all year for new (old) staff tonight the ship
Prior to de facto league championship game vs EM
Montebello 30-Cantwell 8
