The Archdiocese should close schools like St. Paul, redevelop the property and lea$e it out to companies like Amazon.

La Serna does not have the top education in the area, they simply have the more privileged students coming from a higher socio economic background. I would put Cal Hi education over LS. A paid for tufaga that had nothing to do with Whittier means nothing, I will give you Owen though.

Not sure what St. Paul was thinking with this non league schedule… I would have liked them to play someone more their speed at least a couple times early on in the season. Would’ve been cool to see them take on La Habra, La Serna, or even La Mirada. Couldn’t hurt for local recruiting either. Either way it’s going to be a tough season for them.

When will people learn, go to the team that fits your situation. You a wr or qb go to a team that runs a spread. In the world of 7 on 7 how anyone who wants to throw or catch the ball would want to go to St Paul with that current system is insanity.

Playing on a team that is o-6 does not do much for a football stars future. Today even in high school its all about getting noticed and the do re mi you get in D1 colleges.

sword talk may know more about the happenings with the program, but some new head coaches invite ‘those players who check out for any reason (most may suggest the new program is too tough and they dont want to work that hard then lose to awesome teams who have much more talent than them) ” will in the future turn into very possible solutions in building a winning program. Go on with the kids who love football and are smart enough to know they will make program much better very soon if they stick with, and trust Muschetti’s system, and never act like a non believer. Has SP earned the playoffs in new head coaches first two years? yes and last year went 4 and 1 in league after competing against similar very good schools in pre league schedule. This season things appear to be similar. Then SP lost in first round by less than a touchdown which suggest they played a very competitive game and lost. almost impossible to win with several of the top players not happy; and worst situation is when they do not believe in the new system. For me, not that I know all that needs to be known, I think SP will improve little by little . Who else do the negative people think /wish they could have hired? i can’t think of anyone much more successful than Muschetti, except the MAN now head coaching Mountain View; possibly Paredes who has taken his system to more than one school and won a CIF Championship

Let the quitters quit and stay away from the program! Did they expect to win immediately because of the new head coaches previous success? Or is the current system asking for more hard work than they expected? Does Muschetti not have the motivating players ability to change to old processes of mind into the positive mental expectations and knowledge that players must work harder than the previous couple decades of players did to become very good club? I definitely agree that ‘when the best players check out’ many more may follow, but the players that stick with program have correct attitudes needed to build better. Unfortunately for new head coaches program SP has not done enough in the last two years to stimulate many more very good athletes to come to saint Paul football. They need to win in the playoff for this to stimulate best players out of middle school to enter SP

I read on these pages that many St Paul players had “checked out.” Don’t know quite what that means, but if it involves key players quitting, the program has serious problems. Obviously, St Paul’s inclusion on this list is the most questionable, and I expect that by next week, they’ll be quietly gone.
