Not many changes in the Top 5. Three of the five teams lost but all to superior opponents. Northview jumped up two spots with an impressive road win over La Serna and Monrovia joined the party with its fourth consecutive win.

  1. Damien (4-0) – Another quality win for Spartans over Tustin.
  2. Downey (3-1) – Vikings don’t get dropped for losing to monster named Sierra Canyon.
  3. Charter Oak (3-1) – Tough road loss for Chargers.
  4. Muir (2-1) – Mustangs upend St. Francis on the road.
  5. Bishop Amat (2-2) – Lancers looking forward to league.
  6. Northview (3-1) – Vikes move up with huge win over La Serna.
  7. Rio Hondo Prep (4-0) – Kares keep rolling along.
  8. La Serna (2-2) – La Serna falls to Northview and to number eight.
  9. Bonita (1-3) (2-2 on field) – Bearcats have won seven straight in Smudgepot.
  10. La Canada (4-0) – Spartans pass another big test with rout of Crescenta Valley.
  11. Baldwin Park (4-0) – Braves offense still popping; good matchup this week at Monrovia.
  12. Monrovia (4-0) – Wildcats are averaging over 48 points per game.

    Why not top 13?
    From T. Peterson: You got to draw the line somewhere. I just went with 12 because it’s different and it allows a couple extra teams to get in. But again a line has to be drawn at some point.

    I surmised two weeks ago that St Paul would be quietly removed from this list, and that is what has happened. For all the sound and fury surrounding the Moschetti experiment, there has been zero improvement over the Zepeda era. Look for Mike to soon follow Deshaun Foster into the dustbin of former coaches.
