  1. Monday Night Football results: Tampa Bay 20 Houston 19; Chargers 20 Las Vegas Raiders 9. 
  2. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will undergo toe surgery and will be out for a minimum of three months.
  3. Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy suffered a high ankle sprain in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons Sunday night and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks. 
  4. Bellflower quarterback Elacion Saxton was given a two-year suspension by CIF for being in violation of bylaw 202. Bellflower hosts Rio Hondo Prep Friday night. 
  5. Clemson (1-2) was ranked number 4 in the AP College Football poll when the season started but fell out of the Top 25 this week after a 24-21 loss to Georgia Tech.   
  6. USC is number 25 in the AP College Football poll after starting the season 3-0. 
  7.  The Philadelphia Phillies clinched the AL East with a 6-5, 10 inning win over the Dodgers Monday night. 
  8. Kyle Schwarber of the Phillies leads the National League in home runs with 53 and is the baseball RBI leader with 128. 
  9. Tim Skipper, previously the special assistant to DeShaun Foster, will take over as the interim head coach at UCLA after Foster was fired Sunday.

    From all indications, UCLA has more problems than just replacing the FB coach. The Athletic director is said to be incompetent, and without him being replaced, no amount of coaching changes will right that ship. I certainly hope D’Anton Lynn is not enticed to go back to Westwood, because his interests are far better served exactly where he’s at.
